摘要:
We present a general theory of weak processes involving neutrinos which consistently incorporates the possibility of nonzero neutrino masses and associated lepton mixing. The theory leads to new tests for and bounds on such masses and mixing. These tests make use of (&pgr;,K)l2decay, nuclear &bgr; decay, and &mgr; and &tgr; decays, among others. New experiments at SIN and KEK to apply our tests are mentioned. We further discuss some implications for: (1) the analysis of the spectral parameters in leptonic decays to determine the Lorentz structure of the weak leptonic couplings; (2) fundamental weak interaction constants such asG&mgr;, G′V,f&pgr;,fK,Fuq,q=dors,mW, andmZ; and (3) neutrino propagation.

摘要:
Talks on CP violation have a tendency to seem the same every year. The subject is one on which the progress is somewhat limited. The first table has been the first table for a long time. It says that, from a phenomenological point of view, one can discuss three kinds of CP violation. It think this table first appeared in the paper T. D. Lee and I wrote in 1965. We can classify the different kinds of CP violation according to their different selection rules with respect to strangeness change, 0, 1 or 2. In particular we will emphasize the one and two, one being called milliweak of strength of order 10−3weak, and two being superweak which is very weak, because it allows at tree level &Dgr;S= 2. The experimental consequences of superweak are well known; so far, they have turned out to be in agreement with what has been found. The best chances to find effects that are contrary to superweak in experiments now going on are: (1) the electric dipole moment of the neutron, for which the limit now is something like 10−24e‐cm, and for which an experiment now in progress hopes to get down to 10−26and perhaps lower; (2) the famous &eegr;00/&eegr;+−parameter (really magnitude), which is the ratio of the CP forbidden &pgr;0&pgr;0mode to the forbidden &pgr;+&pgr;−mode. The deviation of ‖&eegr;00/&eegr;+−‖ from unity is now known to be less than 6%. Two experiments, one by Cronin and collaborators and one by Adair and his collaborators, hope to see this at a level of 1%, if it exists.

摘要:
In this talk I shall focus mostly on discussing the CP violation consequences of theK‐Mmodel, which Kobayashi, Maskawa introduced in ’77 for the purpose of incorporating CP violation via the complexity in the mixing matrix of the quarks. Much of the talk is reviewing current work on the subject. Some new results of mine on the CP violation effects in exclusive and inclusive decays of bottom, charm and strange particles are also given.
