摘要:
A chaos cellular automation with learning rules for both the thresholds of the nonlinear mapping from the internal state to the corresponding output and the connection weighting matrix between the adjacent cells. In addition to the local coupling between the adjacent cells as seen in the coupled map lattice (CML)(1,2), the global coupling which resembles of the globally coupled map (GCM)(3,4) proposed by Kaneko will be introduced to enhance the cooperative dynamics. Also the diffusive process related to the local gradient of the activities of cells will be taken into account to promote the propagating chaos dynamics of the spatio-temporal structure. ©2000 American Institute of Physics.

摘要:
The melting transition of colloidal crystal at an air-water interface is investigated by Monte Carlo simulations. We study the pair-correlation functiong(r)and the orientational correlation functiongB(r)on this system. We find the two-stage melting of the colloidal crystal, and the existence of the hexatic phase at intermediate concentration. ©2000 American Institute of Physics.

A density functional theory of non-uniform fluid is applied to an investigation of the freezing of size polydisperse hard-sphere system. It was found that there is some critical standard deviation of the size distribution divided by the mean size above which no crystallization takes place for arbitrary density. ©2000 American Institute of Physics.

Equilibrium structure of ternary blends ofAandBhomopolymers and symmetricABblock copolymer is investigated using self-consistent field theory by means of computer simulations. We demonstrate that bicontinuous polymeric microemulsions (PME) can appear as a result of microphase separation without any long-range order. ©2000 American Institute of Physics.

摘要:
We simulate the phase-separation dynamics under a temperature gradient by solving numerically the coupled Langevin equations of a “fluid model” (model H) and a Fourier’s equation. It is found that the macroscopically phase-separated structure is formed in the case that the one side of the system is hotter than phase separation temperatureTcand the another side is cooler thanTc.In the simulation without velocity field, on the other hand, the coexistence of the mixing and demixing states is observed, reflecting the local temperature. This clearly indicates that the velocity fields play a crucial role in the phase-separation behavior in such a non-equilibrium condition. ©2000 American Institute of Physics.
