摘要:
The KLOE experiment, running at the Frascati DA&Fgr;NE &fgr;‐factory since 1999, was designed to measure theR(&Vegr;′/&Vegr;) ratio to an accuracy of few 10−4. However, its physics program is wider thanCPviolation, covering both kaon and non‐kaon physics items. During the year 2000 data taking, ∼ 20 pb−1were collected and a total integrated luminosity of 200 pb−1is expected by the end of 2001. A wealth of measurements can be addressed with these data and a number of preliminary results have been already obtained using the year 2000 statistics, in particular on rareKSdecays. After a brief description of the detector, theKStagging technique is discussed. Preliminary measurements of BR(KS→ &pgr;+&pgr;−)/BR(KS→ &pgr;0&pgr;0) and BR(KS→ &pgr;ev) are then presented. Finally, the perspectives for future analyses are discussed. © 2002 American Institute of Physics

摘要:
The CLEO collaboration proposes to explore the charm sector starting early 2003. It is foreseen to collect on the order of 6 millionDD¯pairs, 300000DsD¯spairs at threshold and one billionJ/&psgr; decays. High precision charm data will enable us to validate upcoming Lattice QCD calculations that are expected to produce 1–3&percent; errors for some non‐perturbative QCD quantities. These can then be used to improve the accuracy of CKM elements. The radiativeJ/&psgr; decays will be the first high statistics data set well suited for meson spectroscopy between 1600 and 3000 MeV. © 2002 American Institute of Physics

This contribution reviews some of the theoretical issues and predictions that were discussed at HADRON2001. The topics are divided into principle areas, 1) exotics, 2) vectors, 3) scalars, and 4) higher‐mass states. The current status of theoretical predictions for each area are summarized, together with a brief description of experiment. New and detailed experimental results are presented in the companion Experimental Summary by Klempt. © 2002 American Institute of Physics

摘要:
In order to answer to serious issues on scalar mesons; why the high‐mass scalar mesons which are considered to beL= 1qq¯nonet are so heavier than the masses predicted fromL= 1qq¯1++and 2++mesons, why the light scalar mesonsa0(980) andf0(980) have the puzzling mass character asI= 1a0(980) mass is nearly equal to thess¯likeI= 0f0(980) mass, we assume that the high mass of theL= 1qq¯scalar mesons is caused by the mixing with the light scalar mesons and the puzzling mass character arises from theqqq¯q¯structure for light scalar mesons. We consider thata0(980) andf0(980) constitute theSU(3) nonet together with the re‐established &sgr;(600) and the &kgr;(900). In this context, we analyze the inter‐mixing between the light scalar nonet and the high massL= 1qq¯nonet and the intra‐mixing among each nonet including the glueball mixing with the high mass scalar nonet. © 2002 American Institute of Physics

摘要:
Combined analysis the experimental data on the processes &pgr;&pgr; → &pgr;&pgr;,KK¯in the channel withIGJPC= 0+0++in a model‐independent approach leads to the following results: 1) Thef0(665) state with properties of the &sgr;‐meson is proved to exist; 2) It is shown that thef0(980) and especiallyf0(1370) (if exists) have a dominantss¯component; 3) Indications for the glueball nature of thef0(1500) and for the considerabless¯component in thef0(1710) are obtained; 4) Conclusion on the linear realization of chiral symmetry (&khgr;S) is drawn. © 2002 American Institute of Physics

摘要:
The suggestion by Jaffe that if &sgr; is a lightq2q¯2state 0++then even the fundamental chiral transformation properties of the &sgr; becomesunclear, has stimulated much interest. Adler pointed out that in fact the seminal work on chiral symmetry via PCAC consistency, is really quite consistent with the &sgr; being predominantlyq2q¯2. This interpretation was actually backed by subsequent work on effective Lagrangian methods for linear and non linear realizations. More recent work of Achasov suggests that intermediate four‐quark states determine amplitudes involving other scalarsa0(980) andf0(980) below 1 GeV, and the report by Ning Wu that study on &sgr; meson inJ/&psgr; → &ohgr;&pgr;+&pgr;−continue to support a nonqq¯&sgr; with mass as low as 390 MeV. It is also noted that more recent re‐analysis of &pgr;Kscattering by S. Ishidaet al.together with the work of the E791 Collaboration, support the existence of the scalar &kgr; particle with comparatively light mass as well. © 2002 American Institute of Physics

摘要:
We analyze the &pgr;&pgr; production amplitudes in the excited &Ugr; decay processes, &Ugr;(2S) → &Ugr;(1S)&pgr;+&pgr;−, &Ugr;(3S) → &Ugr;(1S)&pgr;+&pgr;−and &Ugr;(3S) → &Ugr;(2S)&pgr;+&pgr;−, and the &pgr;&pgr; andKK¯production amplitudes in the charmonium decay processes, &psgr;(2S) →J/&psgr;&pgr;+&pgr;−andJ/&psgr; → &fgr;&pgr;+&pgr;−, &fgr;K+K−, including the possible effect of light &sgr; production. The amplitudes are parametrized by the sum of Breit‐Wigner amplitudes for the &sgr; and the other relevant particles and of the direct 2&pgr;‐production amplitude, following the VMW method. All the &pgr;&pgr; (andKK¯) mass spectra are reproduced well with the obtained values of &sgr;‐parameters,m&sgr; = 526−37+48MeV and&Ggr;&sgr; = 301−100+145MeV, which is almost consistent with the values in our previous phase shift analyses. © 2002 American Institute of Physics

摘要:
A phenomenological model for double charged pion production is presented, aimed to exact N*electromagnetic form factors from measured observables (differential cross‐sections, asymmetries). The preliminary results of CLAS data analysis on double charged pion production by virtual photons are discussed, focusing on high lying N*electromagnetic excitation and signals from possible “missing” baryon states. © 2002 American Institute of Physics

摘要:
The CLAS detector is a large acceptance spectrometer located at the electron accelerator at Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility. Production ofK+andK*mesons along with associated hyperons were measured using the CLAS detector at electron beam energies of 2.4–4.4 GeV. In addition, polarization transfer from the electron helicity to the &Lgr; hyperon was measured. These data are compared with theoretical models, where available, based on fits to older, less preciseK+data. The new data for CLAS indicate that improvements in the models are necessary in order to interpret the results. © 2002 American Institute of Physics
