摘要:
We review some of the results of our recent work dealing with the novel type of Higgs signals that arise when one considers extensions of the standard model. We discuss first possible deviations on the Higgs couplings due to heavy particles, in the context of the MSSM and with large extra‐dimensions. Then, we present several models where it is possible to induce flavor violating Higgs couplings, and probe them at future hadron colliders through the LFV Higgs decayh→ &tgr;&mgr; or with rare top decays. © 2003 American Institute of Physics

摘要:
A study on the TESLA measurement expectations for Lepton Flavour Violation (LFV) leptonicZ→liljdecays is presented. We have explored both the decoupling and non‐decoupling scenarious in the Effective Lagrangian formalism as a way to include general beyond the Standard Model (SM) effects. As the effective lagrangian complies with the SM gauge symmetries by construction, we have relationships between photon andZprocesses that are fully exploited. The consequence is that several restrictions can be put on theZ→ &mgr;edecay whilstZ→ &tgr;lcould be still at reach of the Giga‐Z mode in TESLA. © 2003 American Institute of Physics

摘要:
The LEP bounds on the rareZdecaysZ→ &ngr;&ngr;¯&ggr;,Z→ &ngr;&ngr;¯&ggr;&ggr; andZ→ &ggr;&ggr;&ggr; are useful to put constraints on some new physics effects such as neutrino‐one‐photon and neutrino‐two‐photon interactions, and a possible light pseudoscalar. These constraints can be used to bound the &tgr; neutrino magnetic moment &mgr;&ngr;&tgr;and the &tgr; neutrino decay &ngr;&tgr;→ &ngr;i&ggr;&ggr;. © 2003 American Institute of Physics

摘要:
Anomalous moments of the top quark arises from one loop corrections to the verticest¯tgandt¯t&ggr;. We study these anomalous couplings in different frameworks: effective theories, Standard Model and 2HDM. We use available experimental results in order to get bounds on these anomalous couplings. © 2003 American Institute of Physics

摘要:
This report is a view from Fermilab of Mexican particle physics at the Laboratory since about 1980; it is not intended to be a history of Mexican particle physics: that topic is outside the expertise of the writer. The period 1980 to the present coincides with the growth of Mexican experimental particle physics from essentially no activity to its current state where Mexican groups take part in experiments at several of the world’s major laboratories. © 2003 American Institute of Physics

摘要:
Baryons produced from unpolarized high energy particle‐particle collisions commonly are polarized: Fromproton ‐ nucleuscollisions &Lgr;0, &Ygr;−, &Sgr;+, &Sgr;−, &Ygr;¯+, &Sgr;0, &Ygr;0, &Sgr;¯−are polarized; but, apparently, &OHgr;−and &Lgr;¯0andp, in identical circumstances, are not polarized. However, &Lgr;¯0is created polarized from unpolarizedp¯pandK+pcollisions. Baryon polarization is a function ofxFandPT; it is independent of the beam particle energy. The origin of baryon polarization remains unknown; so far there is no a good model to explain it. © 2003 American Institute of Physics

摘要:
We present the status of the forward‐backward charge asymmetry measurement forWboson production using early Run 2 data collected with the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF). Tracking for forward electrons is a critical component of this measurement, and we describe a new technique which combines the position and energy measurements from the calorimeter with position measurements in the silicon detector to provide tracking and charge determination for electron candidates. The performance of this algorithm is described and the sensitivity for theWcharge asymmetry measurement with Run 2 data is quantified. © 2003 American Institute of Physics

摘要:
The 1992–1995 running of the Fermilab Tevatron (the so‐called Run 1) ended with many important physics goals accomplished, including the discovery of the top quark, and the anticipation of many further questions be to answered in the future. In March 2002, after many detector upgrades by both the CDF and DO&slash; experiments, and significant upgrades of the accelerator itself, the Tevatron Run 2 began (after a detector commissioning run) with the ultimate goal of discovering the Higgs boson. Here, we will highlight some important Run 1 results from CDF in the areas of top quark and Higgs boson physics, show some preliminary studies from Run 2, and give some expectations of what Run 2 will ultimately provide to our understanding of matter. © 2003 American Institute of Physics

摘要:
The NuMI Facility at Fermilab will provide an extremely intense beam of neutrinos for the MINOS neutrino oscillation experiment. The status and expected results of the MINOS experiment will be reviewed. As a next step in the study of neutrino oscillation parameters, an experiment designed to detect the sub‐dominant &ngr;&mgr;→ &ngr;eoscillation has been proposed and will be briefly described. Finally, to accurately interpret the experimental results and minimize the systematic error of neutrino oscillation experiments, as well as investigate a poorly studied aspect of neutrino physics, a high‐statistics neutrino scattering experiment off various nuclei has been proposed. The physics and conceptual detector design of this experiment will be outlined. © 2003 American Institute of Physics
