摘要:
This paper reviews some aspects of the theory of the high frequency wing of infrared bands of molecular gases. Particular attention is paid to the &ngr;3band of CO2, broadened by a number of perturbers, in a small frequency region beyond the band head where the experimental absorption coefficient &agr;(&ohgr;) obeys the relation &agr;(&ohgr;)&ohgr;4=const. The theory giving this result is presented, and values of the mean squared torque and rotational relaxation time obtained from this plateau region of the spectrum are discussed. ©1995 American Institute of Physics

The spectral evidences for interbranch line coupling have been analyzed using a semiclassical approach. Interbranch line coupling causes the smooth branch broadening effect and determines the efficiency of smooth band shape transformation. ©1995 American Institute of Physics

摘要:
We studied the pure rotational lineshapes of HF in gaseous argon (30–330 Amagat) at ambient temperature. The measured absorption coefficients were fitted by a sum of Rosenkranz profiles to obtain widths, shifts, and asymmetry parameters. We compared them with the literature data and ascribed the detected line asymmetry to the line mixing effect whose influence was considered in the framework of semiclassical approach. ©1995 American Institute of Physics
