摘要:
The methods of coherent states and of structure functions in QED are considered in detail for a precise evaluation of the radiative effects at LEP/SLC. They are explicitly shown to give identical results for the exponentiated infrared factors and the O(&agr;) terms corresponding to the initial and final state radiation. Furthermore interference effects from initial and final state radiation are introduced within the formalism of structure functions in a way which is suitable for Monte Carlo applications. The final formulae improve to O(0.1%) the evaluation of the e.m. effects.

摘要:
The use of the structure function formalism to describe the electromagnetic radiative corrections ine+e−colliders is briefly discussed. Specific applications of the method to physcial quantities are shown. The total cross‐section with both initial and final state radiative corrections is derived. We define herept‐dependent structure functions and their application to the radiative neutrino counting problem. Expressions are derived for the forward‐backward asymmetryAF B. Some more recent uses of the structure function method are also listed.

Logarithms in moments of the Drell Yan cross section with respect to the variable &tgr;=Q2/sexponentiate into a power which includes integrals of the running coupling. This result gives insight into the sensitivity of hard QCD cross sections to soft physics.

摘要:
A general method to exponentiate leading and next‐to‐leading logarithms to all orders in perturbation theory is presented for the Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) theory. Within this method that uses the structure function formalism and the eikonal approximation the cases of Deep Inelastic Scattering and Drell‐Yan annihilation are explicity considered. A complete formula for the large N‐moments is given. The extension to the case of the Quantum Electrodynamics (QED) is presented for the radiative corrections to the initial state in thee+e−annihilation.

Some possible developments of the structure function formalism are in this paper considered. Transverse momentum dependent structure functions are introduced. The generalization of the evolution at the two‐loop level is described. A simple solution to the problem of automatically taking into account box and interference contributions within the formalism is presented for a non resonant cross section.

摘要:
For massless QCD the hard scattering amplitudes are naturally written in terms of the dual color expansion. Here I present this expansion for purely gluonic processes and processes involving quark‐antiquark pairs and gluons. The properties of the sub‐amplitudes as well as explicit algebraic expressions are given for a number of these processess. Finally, I demonstrate how to recover massless QED amplitudes from the dual expansion of massless QCD.

摘要:
The problem of predicting theWmass in the standard model is considered as an example of how to include radiative corrections. Renormalization is performed by fitting the bare parameters of the Lagrangian in terms of three data points, namely &agr;,GFandMZ. The &rgr;‐parameter is a computable quantity and no ad hoc definition of sin2&thgr;wis introduced. Dyson resummation of radiative corrections is briefly discussed.
