In today's concern with a definition for the primary physician, the basic needs for an allembracing education is too often forgotten. This paper serves the purpose of reminding the practitioner of the ever-expanding responsibilities of medical schools to graduate physicians aware of their diagnostic needs in everyday practice.

Though coronary care units, such as described by the authors, are becoming more and more commonplace in community hospitals, the description of one at this time may be of interest to those involved in the development of such units. This pattern is quite uniform as is the equipment to be placed in the unit. The results of the use of a unit also are quite typical and to be anticipated.

The authors describe a unique means of communication between an ambulance and the Emergency Service of a given hospital. In “real” emergencies the use of this means circumvents the delays which are inherent in the usual telephone system.
