摘要:

The authors have reviewed 114 cases of this tumor at Charity Hospital of New Orleans. They believe the primary form of treatment is by megavoltage irradiation to the nasopharynx and areas of the neck. Surgical management has some limited use in accasional patients with stage II lesions. Much more knowledge is needed in regard to etiology, early diagnosis and chemotherapy.

The authors review experiences with 30 eclamptic patients. The clinical manifestations, the mortality as well as the perinatal mortality are indicated. Management of such patients and monitoring central venous pressure are determining factors in survival.

The authors have described the anatomic and histologic findings in a seemingly pathologic entity. They assemble the evidence for a varied etiologic background for this clinicopathologic syndrome. Additionally, they consider the pathogenesis as related to alteration in the capillary bed of the pulmonary parenchyma and the therapeutic management as this basis.
