Vasculitis of the subcutis and/or panniculus is commonly associated with systemic disease as a manifestation of autoimmunity. Its presence in instances of the diseases considered here raises interesting questions of pathogenesis. May mutant cells of the host act as an antigen to stimulate antibody response and thus autoimmunity?

The author has set an example of how one may strike down the sexual inhibitions which plague many, even happily married couples. Too few physicians find it easy even to overcome their own inhibitions on this score, as any consultant knows from his history taking. Though one hears much talk of premarital counselling, from some viewpoints counselling the married pays greater dividends. Although all other physiologic functions have been explored and studied in detail for over a century, it was only last year, belatedly, that observers had the courage to report on their studies in the sexual sphere. More clinical contributions are needed.
