The authors describe the advantage of recording scintiscans by the use of a Polaroid camera, in terms of simplicity, low cost and rapidity. They have used this method in scanning brain, lungs, liver and the blood pool in the heart.

Experimentally it has been shown that not only does the topical application of nicotine to the renal pelvis and ureter stimulate ureteral hyperperistalsis, but that its intravenous injection does likewise. Inhalation of cigar smoke has a somewhat lesser effect. The authors thus offer evidence that the control of ureteral peristalsis is neurogenic through the sympathetic adrenergic system.

This review summarizes the outcome of physiologic functions and self-care following paraplegia and quadriplegia. Early decompressive surgical intervention for cervical cord lesions is attended by some success in the eventual results.
