A description is given of a new applicance for the use of a two-gramme radium unit constructed largely of tungsten-alloy. The unit is extremely flexible. Protection for the staff is provided by shutting off the beam in the unit itself when not in use.

摘要:
In Dr. Sandler's article (BritishJournalof Radiology, September 1938) dealing with the principles of dosage of the intra-cavitary radium treatment of cancer of the cervix according to different techniques, the diagrams on page 630 give an erroneous picture of the Marie Curie Hospital technique, especially in regard to the vaginal application, which is briefly as follows:*—The lateral applicators are placed as high as possible in the fornices, against the parametria, and outward toward the pelvic walls.
