The single sample and sequential sampling models are presented in a form which includes inspector error. The effect of inspector errors on the probability of type I and type II errors is discussed.

When it is difficult or not possible to solve a problem analytically and not feasible to carry out a designed experiment on the production floor due to the interference it causes in day-to-day operation, simulation provides a viable alternative. This paper discusses the use of simulation as a management tool in decision making, in particular to determine specification limits.A simulation flow chart of an assembly process is presented along with the results of its application to actual operation.

In this paper, Single Sampling Attributes Plans indexed by Maximum Allowable Percent Defectives (MAPD) are given. A table, for transition from one set of parameters to match the Operating Characteristic Curve (OC curve) to other similar sets, is given.

In the last three decades several control chart procedures were developed. Prominent among these, are the Cumulative Sum, Economic design of X̄-control charts, Acceptance and Multi-characteristic charts. The requirement of traceability of instruments to nationally accepted standards or measurement systems has as its goal the adequate accuracy of measurement, the compatibility of different measurement systems, the interchangeability of parts, etc. This note discusses a perspective in which these goals are approached directly by performance requirements on the quality of measurement rather than a property of an instrument, namely traceability.
