摘要:
AbstractTwo new colorimetric methods were developed for the quantitative determination of organotin hydrides. They are based on the reduction of the carbonyl groups of isatin or ninhydrin by organotin hydrides. In the first case colourless dioxindole is formed, and the lowering in the optical density of an isatin solution is taken as the basis for the determination. In the second case the coloured salt of 2‐hydroxyindanedione is formed. The reactions are sensitive and it is possible to determine concentrations of organotin hydride to about 10−4mol

摘要:
AbstractThe Schiff base formed from salicylaldehyde and anthranilic acid has been found to be a specific and sensitive reagent for the spectrophotometric determination of vanadium (V). This reagent forms a violet ester with vanadic acid (at pH = 1) extractable with benzene. The determination can be carried out in the presence of many diverse ions, and all but ferric ions do not interfere. Phosphoric acid is used both for masking the iron III and to make the extraction easier. The limit of identification is 10 μg vanadate/1 ml

摘要:
AbstractThe polarographic wave observed for acetonitrile solutions of benzoic acid is due to reduction of the acid proton; the apparent diffusion current constant for the wave increases with concentration of benzoic acid as expected for the reduction of the acidic proton of a slightly dissociated acid. No wave was observed for ethyl benzoate.

摘要:
AbstractNitrobenzene and benzoic acid are coordinated through water molecules to the more highly polarizing exchangeable cations in the interlayer space of montmorillonite, but are directly coordinated to NH4+and possibly also K+: On dehydration of the adsorption complexes the nitrobenzene and benzoic acid become directly coordinated to all of the exchangeable cations investigated. Benzoate ion was also formed in amounts which were dependent on the exchangeable cations.

摘要:
AbstractThe combination of a. c. polarography with linear scan anodic stripping voltammetry has been investigated, employing a self‐constructed, phase discriminating a. c. attachment. The resolution and sensitivity of the method was compared with those obtainable, under similar experimental conditions, by plain anodic stripping voltammetry. Changes in the concentration of the supporting electrolyte and the presence of dissolved oxygen frequently affect the sensitivity and must be carefully controlled. 摘要:
AbstractIn α‐ketophosphonates, only the carbonyl group reacts with metal‐organic reagents. The resulting α‐ hydroxyalkyl‐ and α‐aryl‐α‐hydroxymethylphosphonates are hydrolysed to ketones. A side‐reaction, sometimes predominant, is the reduction of the carbonyl group in the starting materials. This is better achieved by means of sodium borohydride. 摘要:
AbstractThe metabolism of ethylene dibromide (EDB) has been studied after administration of this compound to rats by stomach tube.N‐acetyl‐S‐(β‐hydroxyethyl)cysteine was isolated from the urine of EDB‐dosed rats. The identity of this compound with synthetic N‐acetyl‐S‐(β‐ hydroxyethyl)cysteine was proved by chromatographic and electrophoretic methods and by identification of the products obtained by acid and alkaline hydrolysis, by enzymatic hydrolysis and oxidation to a sulfoxide.The second metabolite found in the urine in small amounts was proved to be identical with synthetic S‐(β‐hydroxyethyl)cysteine. The products of hydrolysis and oxidation obtained from the two compounds were shown by chromatography to be the same.The symmetric S‐S'‐ethylene‐bis‐(N‐acetyl) cysteine has not been found in the urine of EDB‐treated rats.When ethylene dichloride or ethylene bromohydrin was administered to rats, the same metabolites were detected
