AbstractThe application of discriminant analysis like other multivariate procedures is essentially complicated with incomplete data. Therefore several methods for handling missing observations occuring in initial samples were compared with each other. Recommendations are given for selecting a suitable method depending on underlying parameters.

AbstractKhare and Federer (1981) presented a simple method for constructing incomplete block designs for any number of treatments. Their procedure is extended to constructing lattice square designs. Using variety cutting, lattice square designs are available for any number of treatments.

AbstractA statistical procedure for comparing the performance of a new product with the existing products on the basis of sensory characters has been developed. A test statistic was evolved for testing the null hypothesis of equality of treatment effects in the case of fractional triad comparisons. AbstractThis paper considers the spread of drug addiction when addiction is by taking one of two competing drugs available. Community is assumed to be closed and each individual is classified as belonging to one of three mutually exclusive groups: susceptibles, addicts and pushers. A deterministic model is presented in general form and, in a special case, the stochastic model is analysed. An illustration is also presented where the parameters take a specific set of numerical values.
