摘要:
SummarySeven cases histories of pulmonary localizations of Hodgkin’s disease with differing radioclinical manifestations are discussed. The comparative study of the histological, clinical and radiological elements have made possible an attempt at a pathogenic interpretation of the observed syndrome. The prognosis in this localization is generally very poor and the treatment particularly deceptive.

摘要:
SummaryThe author discusses the results of a study made in collaboration with 125 clinicians on the practical value of blood cholesterol determination. One prevailing opinion is the lack of significance of this determination in arteriosclerosis. The recent biological acquisitions in the studv of the dys-lipidemias which present a clinical application are briefly considered. The percentage of cholesterol bound to betalipoproteins gives a better notion of the metabolic troubles of arteriosclerosis than do the simple screening tests. The identification of a soluble trichlorethvlene cenapse may prove useful in the future. The stage in the evolution of a case of arteriosclerosis furthermore, seems to have a close correlation with the coheparin clearing factor.

摘要:
SummaryI. The therapeutic results obtained in 50 cardiac patients treated with a new pentaglucosidic extract of digitalis purpurea L. show that the action of this product on the heart is comparable to that of digitalin. Its actions, negative chronotropic, negative dromotropic and positive bath-motropic, are obvious. The reduction in the pulse rate obtained in auricular fibrillations is spectacular and the change from flutter to auricular fibrillation appears to be easy. Furthermore, the doses of the new extract required to complete this change confirm the suggested equivalence between 1 tablet of the new extract and 0,1 mg of digitoxin. To accomplish the rapid digitalization indicated in cases of tachyarythmia with auricular fibrillation or auricular flutter, the following dosage is recommended : to tablets on the first day, 7 tablets on the second day, 5 tablets on the third day and thereafter 4 or 3 tablets following the patient’s requirements. For slower digitalization, it is advisable to give a total dose from 35 to 40 tablets, with a maximum of 5 tablets in 24 hours. The usual maintenance dosage seemed to lie 2 tablets rather than 1 per day.2. Intolerance manifestations seldom occur. With the exclusion of mild nausea in 6 cases (8 %), intolerance manifestations were observed only in 6 cases (8 %) on 51 treated patients.Apart of the flutter cases where heavy doses had been used, the digestive (nausea and vomiting) intolerance manifestations are not related to an overdosage; much larger doses were administered to several patients without causing any trouble. Most of the digestive intolerance manifestations occurred in aged patients or subjects already under digitalic medication. Cardiac irregularities (2 cases of extrasystolic and 4 cases of auricular ventricular block) were caused by overdosage and were rapidly controlled after discontinuation of the medication and administration of potassium chloride or ephedrine.Within the limits of the above mentioned posology, there is only minimal risk of intolerance. This confirms the works claiming that this type of extract has a therapeutic margin wider than that of the other digitalic drugs.

摘要:
SummaryAn isolated case of chronic fluorine intoxication with ankylosis of the vertebral column is presented. This patient got also a renal insufficiency with an histologic picture of chronic interstitial nephritis. These lesions resembling those described in experimental fluorine intoxication in the animal, and other causes of renal insufficiency being absent, we believe to have demonstrated the nephrotoxicity of fluorine for the first time in man.

摘要:
SummaryThree cases of renal-cell carcinoma with secondary amyloidosis are presented. A nephrotic syndrome was common to the three cases. In the first case a syndrome of malabsorption dominated the clinical picture. In the second case anemia was prominent. In the third case the nephrotic syndrome was severe; resection of the tumor did not improve the nephrotic syndrome which progressed to renal failure. The patient still survives the operation since three years. The symptomes of amyloidosis, more especially of gastro-intestinal amyloidosis are reviewed. The relationship between carcinomatosis and secondary amyloidosis are examined. The authors stress the fact that the association of renal-cell carcinoma and amyloidosis is not as rare as generally believed.

摘要:
SummaryA case of subacute dissemination lupus erythematosus with visceral and cutaneous localization and accompanied by a Raynaud's syndrome, is discussed. An uninterrupted corticosteroid therapy was initiated. After a four year evolution, a cutaneous calcinosis of the lower extremities developed. The authors review the different forms of calcinosis and, although the cutaneous biopsy was not absolutely characteristic of scleroderma, the diagnosis of Thibierge-Weissenbach syndrome was proposed with the idea of correlating the different types of collagenosis.
