AbstractThis paper is concerned with the exact theoretical treatment of the three‐dimensional lifting surface theory as treated in Krienes [9]. The method treated in this paper includes a new technique for the numerical approach, and the singularity of the lift distribution in the neighbourhood of the wing tips is examined in detail. To use the trigonometric series expressions of Lamé polynomial functions makes the numerical calculations easy and makes the accuracy improved. AbstractIn the present paper investigation is made of magnetohydrodynamic flow of electrically conducting fluid through conducting rectangular ducts with internal fins from the walls which are perpendicular to the magnetic field. An analytical treatment is given to the solution which reduces to the solution of a Fredholm integral equation of second kind. AbstractConvenient formulae are provided for the stress fields produced by isolated or periodically distributed forces and dislocations in plane orthotropic elasticity. Their application to the solution of boundary value problems and the influence of the elastic constants are discussed. AbstractThe paper is concerned with thermoelastic problems in which the material constants are prescribed as arbitrary, continuous and differentiable functions of spatial coordinates. The formulation is made in terms of Green's function which is available in the literature for homogeneous elastostatics. The governing equation is transformed into a set of integral equations in the inner domain and also on the boundary. The resulting integral equations are discretized by means of boundary elements as well as volume elements. The behavior of the problems is completely determined by solving simultaneously the system of linear equations thus obtained.
