This review covers the synthesis, properties, and applications of high-molecular polysulfoxides and their copolymers, which have been intensively studied in recent years. The synthesis of polysulfoxides by radical and ionic polymerization, polycondensation, and by polymer modification are discussed. Some fields of polysulfoxide application are considered.

摘要:

The influence of sulfur compounds on the kinetics and mechanism of the thermal decomposition of hydrocarbons is described. The reactivity of some organic and inorganic sulfur compounds under the conditions of initiated pyrolysis from the viewpoint of acceleration of the radical decomposition of hydrocarbons, selectivity improvement towards the desired alkenes and decrease of secondary reactions, the consequence of which is coke formation, are discussed.

For starters, a Chemical Abstracts search for the title compound 1, CH2˭CH‒S‒S‒CH˭CH2, RN [15805-34-2], is beset with many difficulties. Online, a search in the CA file retrieved Ref.4plus two false drops, Ref.5(which deals with diallyl disulfide) and Ref.6(which refers to “ethylene disulfide”, (C2H4SS)n). A subsequent search in the CAOLD file provided Ref.2Thus, Refs.1,3can only be found in the paper edition of Chemical Abstracts.
