Through pergressive Fourier analysis of samples typical properties of this method are demonstrated. The most important difference from other mostly applied methods is that not only frequences (or period lengths, respectively) and amplitude values are used, but also phase relations of hidden oscillations, analogously to optical imaging when, e.g., a laser is added to lenses so that also phase relations of the wave trains in the optical field are used. In this way, from a three dimensional object not a plane picture is produced, but a picture equivalent to the original.

A detailed Power Spectrum Analysis applied on the daily polarities of the inferred interplanetary magnetic field, published by Svalgaard, has pointed out that the main periodicity apparent in these data is 27–28 days, which suggests a recurrency of a 2‐sector structure. There is also a secondary periodicity of 13–14days which mainly appears in the years of the descending branch of the solar cycle and superimposes on the 2‐sector structure, transforming it into a 4‐sector structure.

In meat producing farm animals fertility is one of the most important traits. They should breed again after delivery as soon as possible for economic reasons. In sheep difficulties can be seen due to the seasonal dependency of sexual activity. Their sexual behaviour is, however, influenced by geographical location and breed.

We have investigated the variability of the necrozoospermia in human semen, over three periods of nine months from the end of October to July, during the last three years. The donors are twenty young men in good health who have given regular specimens of sperm once of twice monthly for a period of only one or two years. Analysis of the mean curves shows a maximum during winter and a minimum in the beginning of spring, for the three years considered.

Observations of the Earth's rotation exhibit random, secular and periodic variations in rate (changes in the length of the day l.o.d.) and in direction (polar motion). These variations are of great significance, because they are probably associated with geophysical phenomena.

A research of several years duration on the rhythms of termite feeding activity(Heterotermes indicola(Wasmann)) in relation to the rhythms of the geomagnetic activity, depending on the solar activity, is reviewed, considering also the rela ted rhythms of the feeding activity of the larvae of a beetle species(Hy lotru‐pes bajulus(L.)) and the inverse rhythms of daily human death figures.
