摘要:
This paper is the second part of (1)and it shows an attempt to define a suitable model, which would make it possible to predict the drying rate for pastelike and bulk materials in a conventional Nautamixer applied as a direct dryer. As it was shown in (1), (2), (3) all influential variables were studied, and from the results it can be seen that the system is highly complex. By means of system simplification an empirical model is defined, suitable for drying rate calculation for this type of dryer, in the accuracy range of ±25%. For the practical purpose, it seems that this simple model offers a reliable starting point for drying process design for similar systems.

摘要:
An intermittent corn drying process of drying-tempering-drying in a laboratory scale thin layer dryer was optimized. A time lag function was developed to describe the influence of tempering on the drying rate in the post-tempering drying period. Three dryer control strategies (1) a drying-rate-first strategy, (2) an energy-efficiency-first strategy, and (3) an equal-importance (rate/efficiency) strategy were investigated. Results showed that intermittent drying processes were optimal except when a high drying rate was desired.

摘要:
Soymilk, a colloidal dispersion obtained by wet milling of soya bean (Glycine max (L) Merill), was subjected to the foam-mat drying process at 65°C using two foam stabilizers namely, carboxy methyl cellulose (CMC) and glyceryl distearate (GDS) at 5, 10 and 15% levels. While CMC did not produce a stable foam at any of the levels used, it was however, found that a minimum of 10% GDS was required to produce a stable foam. The physical characteristics and reconstitution properties of 10% GDS foamed soymilk powder and 15% GDS foamed soymilk powder were found to be similar but better than those of unfoamed soymilk powder and inferior to those of a spray dried powder sample.
