AbstractThe reaction between citrate and aqueous iodine is accelerated by the presence of tripositive managanese. The reaction is first order with respect to iodine and increase in concentration of Citrate suppresses the rate of reaction. Increase in the concentration of Mn(III) enhances the reaction rate. pH has a marked influence on the rate of reaction, the reaction being fastest at pH 4.25. The temperature coefficient is of the order of 3. The manganous ions lower the rate of reaction at pH higher than 3.30 while no such effect is noted below this pH. A suitable mechanism has been suggested.

AbstractThe kinetics of reduction of trivalent manganese by citrate in aqueous solution has been studied. The reaction is optimum at pH 3.30 of the citrate solution and is retarded by the presence of Mn2+for the citrate solution of pH 3.30 or higher. AbstractDurch Kondensation von δ‐Valero‐ bzw. ε‐Caprolactimäther mit β‐Amino‐β‐aryl‐pro‐pionsäuren wurden β[N‐3,4,5,6‐Tetrahydro‐pyridyl‐(2)]‐ und β‐[N‐1‐Aza‐cyclohepten‐(1)‐yl‐(2)]‐amino‐β‐aryl‐propionsäuren erhalten. Sie wurden durch Hydrochloride, Methyl‐ und Äthylesterydrochloride sowie durch die N‐Acetyl‐ Verbindungen charakterisiert.Im Falle der β‐[N‐3,4,5,6‐Tetrahydropyridyl‐(2)]‐amino‐propionsäure, der β‐[N‐3,4,5,6‐Tetrahydropyridyl‐(2)]‐ und der β‐[1‐Aza‐cyclohepten‐(1)‐yl‐(2)]‐amino‐β‐phenyl‐propionsäure gelang die Cyclisierung zu den entsprechend substituierten 1,2‐Tetra‐ bzw. 1,2‐Penta‐methylen‐6‐oxo‐1,4,5,6‐tetrahydropyrimidinen.Das Verfahren von RODIONOWzur Gewinnung von β‐Amino‐β‐aryl‐propionsäuren konnte durch Einführung von Ammoniumacetat als Ammoniakdonator verbessert und auf eine Anzahl weiterer Aldehyde ausgedehnt werden.Das Verfahren von TANIYAMA, TAKATAund SAYAMAzur Darstellung von δ‐Valerolactam aus Tetra

AbstractEs wird das quaternäre System Benzol–n‐Heptan–Monomethylformamid–Wasser ausgemessen, indem für charakteristische ternäre und pseudoternäre Teilsysteme des Gesamtsystems Binodalkurven und Konoden bestimmt werden. Die Darstellung der Konzentrationsverhältnisse erfolgt in Form von GIBBSSCHENDreiecken und einem daraus gebildeten Tetraeder. In diesem stellt dann ein Teil des Raumes das Gebiet der vollständig mischbaren Konzentrationen, der andere Teil das Gebiet der nicht mischbaren, in zwei Phasen Zerfallenden Konzentrationen dar. Der Tetraeder wird also in ein homogenes und ein heterogenes Gebiet aufgeteilt. AbstractThe composition and stability of the red coloured complex of lead‐Alizarin Red S chelate (λmax490mμ) have been determined using the mole ratio method and the slope ratio method.
