摘要:
In spastic patients the alpha‐adrenergic blocking drug thymoxamine (Opilon Forte®) was found capable of depressing most proprioceptive reflex reflex parameters within 1 min after intravenous administration. the action seems to be of CNS origin, probably exerted as a depression of spindle stretch sensitivity through descending alpha‐adrenergic bulbo‐spinal pathways, but an additional action on the mechanism of presynaptic inhibition is likely. With oral administration, the drug is also capable of depressing distressing clonus, and it is concluded that it deserves further testing as a spasm

摘要:
Among 162 children referred with head injury (in a 3‐year period) a viral meningoencephalitis was proven to be present in seven cases.Only one patient showed symptoms of infection before the accident. On admission classical signs of viral meningoencephalitis were absent or mixed with the complications of head injury.A diagnosis of viral meningitis/meningoencephalitis was documented by immunofluorescent demonstration of viral antigens in CSF cells and/or pattern of CSF cytology and/or conventional serological methods. Whether the trauma and the infection are coincidental or causally related can not be decided definitively. A hypothesis is presented suggesting diminished alertness in subclinical viral meningoencephalitis, leading to accident pronenes

摘要:
In order to measure the resistance to cerebrospinal fluid absorption in humans a lumbo‐ventricular perfusion test, using several intraventricular pressure levels, has been developed. The test has been performed in 15 patients fulfilling criterias of normal pressure hydrocephalus. A considerable variation in the resistance to cerebrospinal fluid absorption revealed by the test indicates that clinical and pneumoencephalographic signs of normal pressure hydrocephalus are of little use in the selection of patients who may benefit from shunting procedure
