摘要:
Trauma is a major health problem in the United States, and accident rates continue to rise. This article presents an overview of mechanisms of injury caused by force, and corresponding occult and delayed injuries seen in patients having sustained blunt injuries. This information can be used by the orthopaedic nurse to anticipate and assess for specific head, thoracic, and abdominal problems that may not be evident upon admission.

摘要:
The initial assessment of the injured hand is a keystone in the total management program. The tissue-oriented evaluation includes these points:History: including functional requirementsAction mechanisms of the hand: bone and joint levers, muscle-tendon unit power, and proximal motor nervesNerves: sensory and motor function Distal Blood Supply: arterial input and venous outflow, tissue ischemia Skin: tidy and untidy woundsThe injury should not be complicated by failure to recognize probable infection, or by inappropriate immobilization.
