摘要:
Networking is the process of developing and utilizing contacts to obtain and share information, advice, and moral support. It has been traditionally used by professionals to achieve their career goals. Nurses are beginning to realize the benefits that networking can have for them individually as well as for the nursing profession as a whole.

摘要:
Anyone actively involved in physical fitness and exercise is aware of the renewed interest in the importance of exercise programs for the elderly. Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis affecting the aging population. This degenerative disorder of movable joints affects 50% of people in their sixties and 78% in their eighties (Hahn, 1983). Yet there is very little in the literature related to exercise and osteoarthritis. This article pursues the need for the elderly person with arthritis to remain physically active. Creative approaches with regard to exercise and arthritis are presented. Discussion will touch upon normal physiologic changes that occur with aging.

摘要:
Little is known about fibromyalgia, a difficult-to-diagnose form of rheumatism. Victims of fibromyalgia suffer not only chronic pain but frustration when physicians do not believe they are in pain. With this disease especially, nursing rather than medical management makes the difference for patients. This article presents the symptoms of fibromyalgia and its nursing management.

摘要:
Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome (RSDS) is a chronic pain syndrome that is most often precipitated by minor trauma. Hence, most of these patients will seek help from a family practitioner or orthopaedist because of the orthopaedic injury and “related” pain. This patient might also be your neighbor who shows you an abnormally swollen, painful extremity — the result of a “little sprain.”
