摘要:
Although there are many aspects to consider when caring for an injury, controlling edema should be of chief concern. Support needs to be provided, either to deter the injured body part from further injury or to prepare for continued activity. Proper wrapping techniques must be used in both instances.

摘要:
The anatomy and construction of a sport shoe are so specific for its designated activity that injury may result from wearing an inappropriate shoe. It is important to understand the biomechanics of the foot as well as sport shoe construction to choose the right shoe for the right sport.

摘要:
This team of nurses and doctors donated a week's vacation, the cost of their airline tick-ets, and many hours of preparation to help more than 200 children who could not afford orthopaedic care in Colombia. During the outreach mission, Colombian health care staff worked closely with the American team to exchange knowledge of orthopaedic skills and surgical techniques. The impact that members of this team have on the care of these needy children makes the count-less hours of preparation for the mission and the work in Colombia very worthwhile. The sharing of time, knowledge, and exper-tise has not only influenced the orthopaedic health care for children in this small area of the world, but is also a rewarding educational experience for all involved.
