摘要:
Initiation of the Koehler‐Orowan double cross‐slip mechanism is investigated, where the barrier to cross‐slip is provided by a Peierls‐Nabarro force. Criteria are established for the survival and growth of a thermally produced double jog near the head of a screw dislocation pile‐up which are shown to be applicable under normal temperature and stress conditions.
