摘要:
Measurements on iron containing interstitial nitrogen are discussed. Relaxation phenomena with different relaxation times can be resolved. Unequal initial stiffness of the domain walls gives rise to satellites of the main relaxation. The activation energy of the main relaxation and its satellites coincides with that known for bulk diffusion. Short demagnetization of the relaxed material prior to time decrease results in wall movement during the measurement and in apparent longer relaxation times. The method has been applied for the determination of the activation volume for interstitial diffusion. Preliminary results of measurements on single crystals are given.

摘要:
The study of the resistivity of nickel, iron, and nickel‐copper alloys with copper concentration up to 25%, at temperatures from 2°K to 78°K, has been carried out. The empirical formulas for resistivity in this temperature range have been found. It has been shown that the ``phonon'' term inT5does not play an essential role in the resistance of ferromagnetic metals at temperatures up to 20–30°K, but that it contributes to the resistance above these temperatures. The values of (&rgr;‐&rgr;0)/nfor nickel and iron [where &rgr; and &rgr;0are the resistivity and residual resistivity at 0°K, respectively,n=(T/&thgr;)32is the ``magnon'' concentration, &thgr; is the exchange parameter in Bloch's32law], and the value of &Dgr;&rgr;/&Dgr;nfor nickel (where &Dgr;&rgr; is the change of resistivity, &Dgr;n=&Dgr;Is/I0is the decrease of magnon concentration, and &Dgr;Isis the increase of true magnetization in strong magnetic field) have been found and compared with each other. It has been shown that both of these values for nickel are of the same order and also the same order as the value of &Dgr;&rgr;0/&ngr;, where &Dgr;&rgr;0is the increase of residual resistivity of nickel copper alloys with the concentration, &ngr;, of copper in these alloys. The coincidence of the above‐mentioned values is considered to be an indirect proof for the assumption that the temperature dependent part of the resistance of ferromagnetic metals at low temperatures is related to the scattering of electrons by magnon.

摘要:
MnNiO3is a ferrimagnetic compound, belonging to the ilmenite type. The sublattices of Mn4+and Ni2+are coupled antiferromagnetically as the sublattices of Fe3+in hematite. The saturation magnetization atT=0°K is 0.76&mgr;B.

摘要:
The preferential distribution of carbon atoms among three different interstitial sites of &agr; iron, depending on the direction of the spontaneous magnetization, has a close formal resemblance to the directional order induced by a field cooling. The measurement of the hysteresis loops of &agr; iron and with carbon content 0.0046% by weight actually revealed such close resemblance to those of the Perminvar type alloys and those of certain ferrites containing cobalt oxide.

摘要:
The uniaxial magnetic anisotropy induced in iron‐nickel alloys by a magnetic anneal has been determined as a function of the composition, annealing temperature and duration. It was found that the result is consistent with the Ne´el‐Taniguchi theory.

摘要:
Magnetic properties of 5Fe2O3·3M2O3where M represents Gd‐Tb‐Dy‐Ho‐Er‐Tm‐Yb‐Lu‐Y‐Sm‐Eu are reported. The results are interpreted using Ne´el's molecular field model. A study of the Al substituted gadolinium garnets shows a preference for Al ions to occupydsites.

摘要:
A theory is given for the Faraday rotation in paramagnetic salts and curves for the rotation angle as a function of applied field are calculated. For comparison with theory, results are given of measurements made on several manganese salts at a wavelength of 9.9 cm and the agreement is good.

摘要:
Calculations of the resonance fields as a function of temperature and of resonance frequency as a function of field for temperatures near the compensation temperature for lithium‐chromium ferrite and gadolinium garnet are given. For the latter case, a comparison is made between the assumption of zero anisotropy and an assumed negative anisotropy.
