摘要:
AbstractThe kinetics of growth and pigment formation ofR. rubraTP 1 andP. rhodozymawere studied. The pigment in both the organisms was detected in the exponential phase. The treatment with funcelase enzyme was found to be ineffective for the extraction of pigment fromR. rubracells. In the case ofPhaffia, the pigment extractable from enzyme treated cells was twice the amount that of mechanically ruptured cells. The mechanically rupturedR. rubracells yielded three and a half times more pigment thanP. rhodozymaruptured by a similar method.

摘要:
AbstractA method to select lysine‐excreting mutants from the fungusAureobasidium pullulanswas devised. This method involved the use of bacterial auxotroph indicator solid medium where mutant colonies were detected by their ability to support the satellite growth of anEscherichia colilysine auxotrophic strain in the medium. Utilizing this procedure and a lysine bioassay, two mutants were identified that were capable of producing approximately double the concentration of lysine in the culture medium relative to their parent strai
