摘要:
AbstractThe ability of peritoneal cells isolated from different strains of inbred mice to spontaneous interferon production was examined. AKR, C3H, and CBA mice which are known to develop spontaneous diseases such as lymphatic leukemia, mammary tumors or hepatomas in high percentage did not produce physiological interferon. On the other hand, peritoneal cells of BALB/c, 129, DBA/2 mice showed IFN production. In the early phase of their ontogenic development NZB mice were found to produce high titers of the interferon.Differences were found in the contents of a natural IFN‐synthesis‐inhibitor between C3H and NZB mice and are considered as one of the reasons of differentiated physiological interferon synthesis. 摘要:
AbstractThe yeastTrichosporon adeninovoranssecretes an amylase at a high rate if grown in a medium containing starch or maltose. The enzyme was purified 29‐fold by hydroxylapatite chromatography and gel filtration and characterized as a glucoamylase. The enzyme seems to be a glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 225,000. The optimal temperature for the glucoamylase activity was 60 to 70 °C in dependence on the substrate concentration. The enzyme displayed highest activity in a pH range of 4.0–5.5 In the absence of starch or maltose the thermal stability was low but in the presence of substrate a rapid increase of the enzyme stability was observed. AbstractBiosynthesis of polygalacturonase (PG) byA. nigerstrain R 1/214 correlates with the morphology of mycelium in submerged culture. The mean specific PG‐synthesis (PG‐U · g−1· h−1) increases with the degree of compactness of mycelium. PG‐production can be optimized by a precise adjustment of the culture conditions after direct spore inoculation (diffuse mycelium) but the high synthesis as by compact mycelium is never obtained. AbstractBacterial cultures were selected from the native flora of liquid manure in order to metabolize liquid manure substances. The mixed culture used in the growth experiments is characterized by low growth rates when maximum degradation of acetate occurs. The biomass concentration reached 2.2 g/l.

AbstractFor mass culture ofEscherichia coliK1a fermenter dialysis culture technique based on an artificial hollowfiber kidney and substrate feeding is described and compared with conventional shaking culture and fermenter batch culture techniques.Important growth parameters as bacterial dry weight, optical density and live cell counts demonstrate the advantage of this new method. On the basis of bacterial yields, effectivity had increased about 100 fold. The synthesis of K1capsular polysaccharides, which is influenced by a number of factors, proved to be good.
