AbstractDie neuen Verbindungen Ln3UO6Cl3(Ln=La, Pr, Nd) entstehen bei der Umsetzung von Gemengen LnOCl/Ln2O3/U3O8(7 : 1 : 1) (Ln=La, Nd) und PrOCl/Pr6O11/U3O8(12 : 1 : 2) mit überschüssigem Chlor in Quarzglasampullen (5 d, 1000°C, Ln=La; 9 d, 800°C, Ln=Pr, Nd). Durch chemischen Transport der Oxochlorouranate mit Chlor [p(Cl2, 25°C)=1 atm; T2=1000°C→T1=900°C (Ln=La) und T2=840°C→T1=780°C (Ln=Pr, Nd)] zugängliche Einkristalle wurden röntgenographisch (Ln=La, Pr, Nd) und elektronenmikroskopisch (Ln=La) untersucht.Die Verbindungen Ln3UO6Cl3kristallisieren hexagonal in der Raumgruppe P63/m (Nr. 176) mit Z=2 Formeleinheiten pro Elementarzelle. Die mit La3WO6Cl3isotypen Strukturen wurden bis zu R=3,04% bzw. Rw=1,91% (Ln=La), R=4,72% bzw. Rw=3,80% (Ln=Pr) und R=3,99% bzw. 2,49% (Ln=Nd) verfeinert. AbstractCrystals of the title compounds were obtained by arc‐melting cold‐pressed pellets of the elemental components, followed by annealing the reaction products in an argon atmosphere slightly below the melting point. The crystal structures of these isotypic, hexagonal carbides (P63/m, Z=2) were determined from single‐crystal X‐ray data; Gd3Mn2C6: a=815.0(2) pm, c=504.93(9) pm, R=0.012 for 526 structure factors and 18 variable parameters; Tb3Mn2C6: a=810.5(2) pm, c=500.5(2) pm, R=0.025 (225 F′s, 18 variables). The carbon atoms form pairs with C—C bond distances corresponding to double bonds. The three‐dimensional, polyanionic managanese carbon network contains relatively large trigonal‐bipyramidal voids formed by three lanthanoid and two manganese atoms. The rationalization of chemical bonding on the basis of the 18‐electron rule suggests that these voids are filled by nonbonding electrons of the adjacen

AbstractDie Reaktion von Mo6Cl12mit zwei Äquivalenten Natriummethanolat führt in Gegenwart von 2,2,2‐crypt zu (C18H36N2O6Na)2[Mo6Cl12(OCH3)2] (1). Durch Metathese von1mit 9‐Anthrylmethanol in Propylencarbonat wird (C18H36N2O6Na)2[Mo6Cl12(OC15H11)2] · 2C4H6O3(2) erhalten. AbstractFarblose, plättchenförmige Kristalle von RbBS3(P21/c, a=7,082(2) Å, b=11,863(4) Å, c=5,794(2) Å, β=106,54(2)°) entstehen aus einem stöchiometrischen Ansatz von Rubidiumsulfid, Bor und Schwefel bei 600°C und anschließendem Tempern. Die zu RbBS3isotype Phase TlBS3(P21/c, a=6,874(3) Å, b=11,739(3) Å, c=5,775(2) Å, β=113,08(2)°) erhält man aus dem Ansatz Tl2S · 2 B2S3. Das nach 7 h bei 850°C erhaltene glasige Produkt wird in einem Zweizonenofen 400 h bei 400→350°C ausgelagert. Gelbe Kristalle der Verbindung bilden sich in der wärmeren Ofenzone. Das ebenfalls gelbe Tl3B3S10(P1, a=6,828(2) Å, b=7,713(2) Å, c=13,769(5) Å, α=104,32(2)°, β=94,03(3)β, γ=94,69(2)°) bildet sich aus stöchiometrischen Mengen von Thalliumsulfid, Bor und Schwefel bei 850°C und anschließendem Tempern.Die ausschließlich tetraedrisch koordiniertes Bor enthaltenden Verbindungen bilden polymere Kettenstrukturen, die sich im Fall des RbBS3und TlBS3aus spirocyclisch über die Boratome verknüpften, nichtplanaren Trithiadiborolan‐Ringen aufbauen. Ersetzt man in diesen Anionenketten jeden dritten B2S3‐Fünfring durch einen B(S2)2B‐Sechsring, so

AbstractThe new misfit layer compound (LaSe)1.14(NbSe2)2has been synthesized from the elements at 1050‐ and its structure has been determined by a composite approach. The structure has an alternating stacking sequence of [LaSe] and two [NbSe2] layers along the c direction. The misfit of the two different layers is occurring along the a direction: a1(LaSe)=6.0191 Å and a2(NbSe2)=3.4372 Å therefore yielding a ratio of 1.751 which is very close to 7/4. An investigation of electrical resistivity was done. The crystal shows superconducting properties at 5.

AbstractEinkristalle von Kba3Ca4Cu3V7O28wurden durch Feststoffreaktionen, knapp unterhalb des Schmelzpunktes, erhalten. Die Verbindung kristallisiert hexagonal, Raumgruppe C 6v4−P63mc, a=11,160, c=12,428 Å, Z=2. AbstractThe Rb‐In system contains only RbIn4(BaAl4type) and Rb2In3in the 0–80 at.% In region. The structure of Rb2In3consists of rubidium ions between layers ofcloso‐In6clusters joined into sheets through exo bonds at four coplanar vertices (I4/mmm, a=6.8735 (4) Å, c=15.899 (1) Å, R(F)/Rw=3.2/3.5%). The phase is isostructural with Cs2In3when a probable error in the earlier space group assignment is corrected. Rb2In3is a poor conductor (P>103μohm · cm) with a temperature‐independent magnetic susceptibility of (0 ± 4) x 10−6emu/mol after core and orbital corrections. The corresponding Zintl phase (closed shell configuration) predicted on the basis of conventional electron counting for the cluster network is supported by extended‐Hückel MO calculations. AbstractThe new compound, Ba4Nb14O23, has been prepared by heating mixtures of Ba5Nb4O15, Nb2O5and Nb at 1 450°C under Ar. Ba4Nb14O23has been studied by means of high resolution electron microscopy and X‐ray powder diffraction techniques.
