AbstractTriethyl phosphite deoxygenation of 2‐(2‐nitrophenyl)imidazo[1,2‐a][1,8]naphthyridine(3)led to theC‐insertion to give the indoloimidazonaphthyridine5.Our attempt to promote theN‐insertion by blocking the C‐3 position failed. AbstractLong chain derivatives of halogen free carbazoledioxazine which is a typical organic pigment with a linear type structure (5,15‐dialkyl‐5,15‐dihydrodiindolo[3,2‐b:3′,2′‐m]triphenodioxazines) and an angular type structure (5,15‐dialkyl‐7,17‐dialkoxy‐5,15‐dihydrodiindolo[2,3‐c:2′,3′‐n]triphenodioxazines) were newly synthesized. AbstractThe study of the molecular geometry of 1,5‐bis(3,5‐dimethyl‐2‐hydroxybenzyl)‐1,5‐diazocan‐2,6‐dione(2)as determined by X‐ray analysis is reported and compared with that of cyclodi‐β‐alanyl(3).Interestingly there are 1.5 molecules of2in the asymmetric unit, showing the two conformations (1 twist‐boat‐ and 0.5 chair‐type) with two parallel aromatic rings (from alternate twist‐boat conformers) sandwiching the eight‐membered ring of the centrosymmetric chair‐type conformation. The twist‐boat is shown by pmr spectroscopy to be the only significantly populated conformer at low temperature

AbstractThe tautomerizableN‐aminopyrazolone9, theO‐methyl1andN‐methyl derivatives4were condensed with carbonyl compounds to give the alkenylaminopyrazoles12, 2a‐gand5c, which, under mild conditions, were hydrogenated to the corresponding alkylamino derivatives. The subsequent hydrogenation of the latter ones gave different results according to the structure of the starting material.
