During the last decade, neuropsychology has emerged as one of the fastest growing disciplines within clinical psychology. Amongst the many roles that have emerged for neuropsychologists is that of an expert witness in the medicolegal setting. Unfortunately, the available texts on neuropsychology do not adequately deal with this important role. Sixty‐eight households from metropolitan Adelaide were sampled to determine the demand for psychological services, and respondents' willingness to pay a levy to receive a full rebate of psychological fees. Eighty‐two percent of the sample were willing to pay such a levy. to assess the referral system, 9 general medical practitioners and 10 psychologists were presented with a list of 20 psychological problems, and asked whether they would treat, refer, or treat then refer for each problem. A brief review of some recent literature on the Locus of Control concept as applied to educational situations is given followed by an outline of the Relaxation‐Suggestion‐Imagery Technique (RSI). The success of this technique with school and university students in modifying locus of control towards increased internality is outlined. Two further studies are described using the Teacher Locus of Control Scale, one with high school teachers and the other with teacher trainees. Results, in addition to confirming the earlier finding that the expenditure of one and one half‐hours on RSI training is sufficient to increase “internality”, also indicated that such modified “internality” may be translated into improved teachin

The application of computers to remedial and special education is discussed and it is argued that the educational component of computer‐assisted instruction for special and remedial education is dependent upon the method of interaction between machine and student. Handwriting and beginning reading skills are taken as examples to demonstrate the potential of computer‐assisted instruction if attention is paid to the method of interaction employed.
