ZusammenfassungDie Evolution der artikulierten Lautsprache des Menschen setzt den Besitz eines lauterzeugenden Aparates (Thorax, Larynx), eines Ansaarohres für Artikulation und Modulation und eines rezepto‐riscken Systems voraus. Sprache ist aber nur möglich, wenn diese Tei1systeme zu einheitlicher Sprach‐funktion integriert und durch ein komplexes Führungs‐ und Steuerungssystem (Gehirn) geleitet werden. Kein einziges dieser Teilsysteme dient primär der Sprachfunktion, doch kann aufgezeigt werden, daß sie in mehrfacher Hinsicht für diese Leistung praedisponiert sind. Wesentlich ist, daß Sprache ein multifaktorieller Prozeß ist. Die Phyloenese der Partidsysteme wird beispielhaft erörtert, die besondere Rolle des Gehirns (Neopdlium) dkei herausgestellt. Morphologische Einzelbefunde an Skeletteilen (Unterkiefer, Hirnschädel) lassen keine Rückschlüsse auf die Sprachfähigkeit des Trägers zu.SummaryPhylogeny of human speech organs as a precondition for evolution of languageEvolution of human speech necessitates a sound‐producing apparatus (Thorax and Larynx), a vocal tract for articulation and modulation of sounds and an acoustic sensory system. ZusammenfassungVerbreitun und Zusammensetzung der Limnofauna des nördlichen Yukatan ist geprägt durch den Karstcharafter der Halbinsel. Oberirdische Fische finden sich im Landesinnern nahezu ausschließlich in dolinenartigen Einstürzen (“Cenotes”). Bis auf 2 Arten (Astyanax mexicanus, Rhamdia guatema‐lensis) sind es sekundäre Süßwasserfische. Sie blieben aus dem Artenspektrum der Küstenlagunen zurück, als das Meer das nördliche Yukatan im Pleistozän freigab.In den unterirdischen Gewäsern lebt eine augen‐ und pigmentreduzierte Fisch‐ und Krebsfauna von teils mariner, teils limnischer Deszendenz. Alle haben sehr wahrscheinlich ihre Höhlentier‐evolution an der pliozänen Küstenlinie begonnen, nachdern die von ihnen besiedelten Küstenhöhlen im Verlauf der leistozänen marinen Regression binnenländisch separiert wurden. Während die Fundorte der Höhlenische noch heute Bezug zur pliozänen Küstenlinie erkennen lassen, haben sich die Höhlen‐krebse sekundär über das game nördliche Yukatan verbreitet.Die limnischen Höhlenformen weisen im Vergleich zu denen mariner. Abkunft einen geringeren Reduktionsgrad von Auge und Pigment auf. Dies deutet auf einen spateren Beginn ihrer regressiven Evolution hin.Keinerlei Anzeichen einer regressiven Entwicklung zeigen der in unter‐ und oberirdischen Gewässern des nördlichen Yukatan weit verbreitete WelsR. guatemalensissowieA. mexicanus, für die beide typische Höhlenformen aus anderen Regionen Mexifos nachgewiesen sind. Es wird vermutet, daß das nördliche Yukatan während eines Großteils des Pleistozän Inselcharakter hatte, wodurch diesen Formen als salzempfindlichen primären Süßwasserfischen eine Besiedlung nicht möglich war. Der hieraus resultierende späte Besiedlungszeitpunkt erklärt zudem die begrenzte Verteilung der Fundorte vonA. mexicanusauf einen schmalen Saum nahe der rezenten Küste.SummaryRegressive evolution and phylogenetic age: the history of colonization of freshwaters of Yucatan by fish and crustaceaDistribution and composition of the limnic fauna of northern Yucatan are strongly influenced by the carsic character of the peninsula. In the inner parts epigean fish can only be found in the so‐called cenotes. With the exception of 2 species all are secondary fresh‐water fish, which can be derived from the species‐spectrum of the coastal lagoons. They remained behind, when the sea retreated from parts of Yucatan in pleistocene times.In the vast subterranean cave system of Yucatan live a series of eye‐ and pigment‐reduced fish and crustaceans of marine as well as limnic descendence. They all originally started trgolobitic evolution in caves of the former Pliocene shore lines, after having been isolated by the pleistocene marine regression. Whereas the distribution of the cave fish still shows relations to the ancient pliocene shore line, the crustaceans have secondarily spread all over northern Yucatan.The limnic cave species show a comparatively lesser degree of eye‐ and pigment‐reduction than the marine derivatives. This is attributed to a more recent begin of reressive evolution in these forms.No characteristics of regressive evolution are shown by the widely distributed catfishRhamdia guatemalensis(Pimelodidae) as well as by the characidAstyanax mexicanus, both of which have developed typical cavernicolous populations in other parts of Mexico. This is possibly caused by an insular character of northern Yucatan during pleistocene, by which the two salt‐sensitive primary freshwater fish species were hindered from invading the peninsula until more or less recent. By this the distributional pattern ofAstyanax mexicanus, which is restricted to a narrow coastal area in northern Yucatan, could be explained, too.ResumenEvolución regresiva y edad filogéntica: La historia del poblamiento por pesces y crustáceos de agua duke de YucatánLa composición y distribución de la limnofauna del norte de Yucatán están determinadas por el Karst, que caracteriza esta península. Peces se encuentran casi exclusivamente en hundimientos locales (Cenotes). A excepción de 2 especies (Astyanax mexicanus, Rhamdia guatemalensis) son todos peces de agua duke secundarios. Estos quedaron del espectro de especies de las lagunas costeñas, al retirar se del norte de Yucatan, el mar, en el pleistocene.En las aguas subterrineas existe una fauna de peces y crustáceos con los ojos y la pigmentación reducidas. Esta fauna procede tanto de agua salada como duke y comenzó su evolución cavernícola probablemente a lo largo de la costa en el plioceno, al separarse las cavernas por ella habitada durante el período de regresión marina de ese entonces. Mientras los peces cavernícolas son encontrados en lugares que presentan una relación con la linea costeña del plioceno hasta la actualidad, los crustáceos cavernícolas en cambio se han distribuido secundariamente por todo el none de Yucatán.Las formas de animales cavernícolas de agua duke presentan un menor grado de reducción de los ojos y de pigmentación que las de origen marino, lo cual sugiere un inicio posterior de su evolución regresiva.Ningún indicio de una regresión evolutiva presentan el bagreR. guatemalensis y A. mexicanusque se encuentran tanto en aguas bajo tierra como en aquellas de la superficie; sin embargo se conwen de ellos tíicas formas cavernícolas de otras regiones de México. Zusammenfassung1. Die um den Acigöl‐Rand herum in 16 Quellen lebenden Populationen der ArtAphanius anatoliaesind wegen des hohen Salzgehaltes des Sees ± voneinander geographisch isoliert. Diese Populationen wurden in dem Zeitraum von 1943 bis 1974 untersucht. Sie zeichnen sich durch unterschied‐lich weit fortgeschrittene Schuppenreduktionen aus. Bei der Auswertung wurden die Tiere vier Beschuppungstypen zugeordnet.2. In diesen 30 Jahren kam es zu Veränderungen in der Zusammensetzung der Populationen. Bislang gutbeschuppte Populationen zeigten eine Verschlechterung in der Beschuppung und umgekehrt.3. Genetische Zufallsmechanismen wie genetische Drift, Gensubstitution, Transfer der Genfunktion u. a. haben dabei eine große Rolle gespielt, da sie sich in den Mikropopulationen schnell mani‐festieren konnten.4. Außerdem haben gelegentlich auftretende hohe Wasserstände des Sees in den letzten 20 Jahren des Untersuchungszeitraumes mehrere Populationen erreicht und deren Isolation zeitweise durchbrochen. Hierdurch war Genfluß zwischen diesen Populationen möglich.5. Es lassen sich Aussagen zum Isolationsgrad dereinzelnen Populationen machen. Dieserist abhängig vom Abstand der Quellen vom Seeufer, von der Wasserführung der Quellen und vornehmlich von den Wasserstandsschwankungen des Seespiegels.6. Der zeitweise Genfluß zwischen Populationen führt im Gesamtgebiet zu einer Nivellierung in den Häufigkeiten der Beschuppungstypen. Die errechnete mittlere Zusammensetzung aller Populationen läßt über den Untersuchungszeitraum erkennen, daß seit 1954 die extremen Beschuppungstypen (normalbeschuppt einerseits und stark schuppenreduziert andererseits) abgenommen haben, zugunsten mittelmäßig reduzierter Tiere. Die Häufigkeit extrem beschuppter und extrem redu‐zierter Fische war zu Beginn des Untersuchungszeitraumes weitaus größer als gegen Ende. 1974 sind ale Beschuppungstypen ± gleich häufig vertreten.SummaryChanges in the variability observed in populations of the cyprinodont Aphanius anatoliae over a period of 30 years: 1943–19741. Distributed around the shore of lake Acigöl we find 16 populations of the speciesAphanius anatoliae, living there in springs. According to the high salt concentration of the lake water they are more or less isolated from each other geographically. All the populations examined in the period of 1943–1974 are characterized by a different degree of scale reduction. For the purpose of evaluation the fish were classified under four types of scalation.2. During the 30 years of observation changes have taken place in the composition of the populations concerning the scaly covering. Well scaled fish showed a decrease in scalation and vice versa.3. Genetic mechanisms such as random drift, gene substitution, transfer of gene function etc. have been of great relevance for the changes. It did not take much time, until their manifestation in the micropopulations became evident.4. Moreover, during the last 20 years there were occasional high‐water‐levels which reached quite a few of the populations. By breaking down isolation borders a gene flow between the different populations became possible.5. The degree of isolation depends on the distance between the springs and the lake, on the quantity of water in the springs and primarily on the changes in the water level.6. The occasional gene flow between the populations led to a levelling of the frequency of scalation types. From the data on the average composition of all populations we can conclude that since 1954, over the time period of investigation, there has been a decrease in the extreme types of scalation (fully scaled or extremely scale reduced) and an increase in the fish with medium scalation. The amount of fish belonging to the extreme scalation types was much higher at the beginning of the investigation period than it was at the end. In 1974, we find an ± equal distribution of fish on the four different scalation types.RésuméChangements de variabilité observée pendant trente années (1943–1974) parmi des populations de l'espèce Aphanius anatoliue (Cyprinodontidae)1. Nous trouvons 16 populations de l'espèceAphanius anatoliaedispersies dans differentes sources situées aux bords du lac Acigöl. Les populations sont, à cause de la concentration considérable de la solution saline de I'eau dulac, plus ou moins isolées l'une de l'autre geographiquement. Chacune de ces opulations examinées pendant cette époche a une régression caracteristique de la couverture d' écailes. Pour l'evaluation, les poissons de toutes les populations étaient classifiés en quatre types de couverture d' écailles.2. Pendant le temps d'observation il y avait des changements dans la composition des poulations, concernant les écailles. Ceux poissons, qui avaient possédés une couverture d' écaille complète avant, montraient une diminution d' écailles et vice versa.3. Des mecanismes génétiques accidentels comme par example “genetic drift”, “gene substitution”, “transfer of gene function” etc étaient très importants pour ces changements, comme ils pouvaient se manifester dans les micropopulations assez bientôt.4. En plus: Causé par la montée du niveau du lac pendant les 20 années passées l' éau inondait certains populations, l'isolation desquelles cessait. Comme ça, une fusion génétique était possible parmi les populations.5. Le degré d' isolation dépend de la distance entre les sources et le lac, de la quantité de l'eau dans les biotopes et premièrement des changements du niveau d'eau.6. La fusion génétique casuelle entre les populations causait un nivellement de fréquence des types de couvertures d'écailles. SummaryThe systematics of freshwater copepods has been considered from a historical viewpoint. These arthropods are characterized by considerable phenotypical plasticity, many sibling‐species, polymorphism and polyphenism. The taxonomy within freshwater copepods is mostly based upon the morphology of the animals and the splitting of a number of species into subspecies is often based on very scarce material. Seldom have taxonomists working on freshwater copepods used adequate taxonomic theory or taken advantage of the tools of modem taxonomy.A systematic analysis of the speciesCyclops abyssorumhas been performed. Selected populations within the species range have been measured and compared with the topotypical population. Geographically neighbouring populations may differ substantially, while more remote populations may bear a greater resemblance to each other. Analysis of the life cycle strategies did not correlate with the morphological analysis.C. abyssorumdoes not satisfy modern taxonomical rules for splitting into subspecies. Local or geographically restricted populations will be denoted by using the binomen and the locality.ZusammenfassungProbleme der Unterscheidung von Unterarten bei cyclopoiden SüβwassercopepodenDie Systematik der Süßwassercopepoden wird historisch betrachtet. Diese Arthropoden zeichnen sich durch eine bemerkenswerte Plastizität, viele Zwillingsarten, Polymorphismen und Polyphaenismen aus. Der Taxonomie der Süßwassercopepoden wird im allgemeinen die Morpholoie zugrunde gelegt, Aufsplitterungen in Unterarten beruhen meist auf einem sehr kleinen Material. Selten benutzen Taxo‐nomen dieser Gruppe in angemessener Weise taxonomische Theorien oder die Hilfsmittel moderner Taxonomie.Eine taxonomische Analyse der ArtCyclops abyssorurnwird vorgelegt. Ausgewählte Populationen aus dem gesamten Verbreitungsgebiet wurden vermessen und mit topotyischen Poulationen ver‐glichen. Es zeigt sich, daß geographisch benachbarte Populationen sich deuich unterscheiden können, während voneinander weit endernte Populationen sich ähneln. Biologische Besonderheiten stehen mit Gestalteigenarten nicht in Korrelation. Bei Zugrundelegung moderner taxonomischer Grundsätze läßt sichC. abyssorumnicht in Unterarten aufgliedem. SummaryBoth types of evolution events, splitting and anagenesis, cannot be combined within one classification. Only a cladisti classification is objective and testable. An evolutionary classification remains subjective and ambiguous but in spite of this contains much valuable information.
