摘要:
The outlet of the Ancylus Lake in central Sweden has been investigated morphologically and chronologically by Munthe (1927), von Post (1928) and Maj-Britt and Sten Florin (1944). However, the results of these investigations did not complement each other. Munthe and von Post linked the Svea River with the earliest phase of the Ancylus Lake, while Sten Florin considered that the Svea River must have been formed earlier. Different shoreline connexions with Degerfors, where the Svea River entered the western ocean, have also contributed to the different interpretations of the Svea River's position in time.

摘要:
The investigations for building a bridge between the Swedish mainland and Öland have given information about the extension westward of the Palaeozoic rocks in the Kalmarsund. The bedrock surface is in the form of two steps, one of which is supposed to correspond to theParadoxissimus-layers, the other to the Lower Cambrian strata.

摘要:
Two sections through Caradocian strata in Dalarna, Central Sweden, have been investigated as to their content of acid-resistant microfossils. The vast amount of Chitinozoa(incertae sedis)found is treated in this study.

摘要:
Palaeocope ostracode faunas in the Siluro-Devonian sequence of Gotland and the submarine Hoburg Bank area enable detailed correlations with ostracode faunas in other areas around the Baltic to be made, and at several levels the faunas extend into areas where graptolite datings are possible. The late Leintwardinian–early Downtonian interval can be correlated with the British sequence, and the Whitcliffian–late pre-Gedinnian interval with sequences in Nova Scotia and Maine. The Silurian of Gotland starts with an almost entirely submarine Llandoverian sequence of unknown completeness, ranging from low Llandoverian Beds withStricklandia lensinto the zone ofOktavites spiralis, partly above sea-level. The supramarine sequence extends some distance into the Whiteliffian, and the younger submarine sequence in the Central Baltic comprises Whiteliffian and Downtonian rocks. The youngest fauna treated is found in theBeyrichienkalk, with equivalents in the Kaugatuma-Ohesaare Beds of Ösel, in cores from the South Baltic area, and in the upper part of the type section of the Stonehouse Formation of Nova Scotia, not ranging above thebouceki-transgrediensinterval in the graptolitic sequence or theeosteinhornensiszonc in the conodont sequence. TheBeyrichienkalkrepresents the youngest pre-Gedinnian ostracode fauna known. The Siluro-Devonian series boundaries in the Gotland area are drawn as follows: (1) Llandoverian-Wenlockian tentatively at or very slightly above the base of the Upper Visby Beds. (2) Wenlockian-Ludlovian (between theludensisandnilssonizones) in an almost inaccessible interval of the lower Hemse-Klinteberg Beds in the current stratigraphy. (3) Ludlovian-Downtonian at (or most inconsiderably below) the base of the sequence withFrostiella groenvalliana (F. lebiensis)andLondinia kiesowi (L. arisaigensis)on Ösel, in the Central Baltic, Pomerania, Scania, the Welsh Borderland, and Nova Scotia.
