摘要:
AbstractInfection patterns in Scots pine plantations by Armillariella mellea (Vahl.) Karst. Macro‐ and microscopic analyses of Scots pine root systems in plantations infected byArmillariella melleaare described. Forms of infection and states of penetration are determined and correlated with resistance reactions. Variation ofArmillariellaattack is discussed in connection with the variation within the population of the host plants and parasite

摘要:
AbstractGrowth, mycorrhiza and frost resistance of Picea abies seedlings following fertilization with different levels of nitrogen. NPK fertilization with varying levels of nitrogen causes increased growth of spruce seedlings and faster flushing in spring. During the growing season, the frost resistance of all organs of the plants, especially new needles and shoots is the lower, the more nitrogen the plants have received. Consequently, spruce plantations, especially at high altitudes, may be liable to late frost damage.

摘要:
AbstractThe epidemiology of Marssonina brunnea (Ell. et Ev.) P. Magn., a leaf parasite of cultivated poplars. The relationship between outbreaks of the disease and ripening of ascospores and release of conidia in spring was studied in 1972 and 1973 in the north (Lille) and the east (Nancy) of France.During the growing season, the numbers of spores released by water splash during rainfall and also spores present in the air were systematically recorded. The various records and observations were related to climatic conditions.

摘要:
AbstractThe stems of 160 cuttings including 32 controls of four clones ofPicea abies(L.) H. Karst., grown for two seasons in the nursery, were inoculated withFomes annosus(Fr.) Cke. No differences in resistance to spread of the pathogen were observed after 5 weeks, but after 13 weeks the fungus had spread (P<0.10) less in one of the clones.

摘要:
AbstractNectriaascospores discharged from a Beech bark diseased tree were monitored by a spore trap, and prevailing meteorological conditions were recorded. Forest and glasshouse experiments are described in which necrosis of beech bark followed wound inoculation withNectriaisolates during dormancy. Perithecia were producedin vitroand spore dimensions were measured. Linear growth rate of the fungus in culture was compared over a range of temperatures.
