摘要:
AbstractThe diversity ofAscocoryne cylichnium, Nectria fuckelianaandNeobulgaria premnophilaisolates expressed as variation in their fatty acid and sterol composition was investigated. Despite high within‐species variation, distinct differences in the fatty acid and sterol composition between species were eviden

摘要:
AbstractIn the annual assessments of forest damage in Switzerland, the nature of any stem damage is recorded on the target trees. As the inventory is undertaken on a representative basis, the extent of stem damage should accurately reflect the extent of stem damage on trees in Switzerland. This paper examines the occurrence of stem damage by species, region and forest type and determines whether any relationship exists between stem damage and crown transparency.

摘要:
AbstractThe impact ofMelampsorarust on the growth ofSalix burjatica‘Korso’was assessed. Comparisons were made between untreated plants and those where the disease had been partially controlled using fungicides. Fungicides delayed the onset of the disease and its effects on growth. Leaf loss was reduced whilst shoot growth and dry matter yields increased. The effect of secondary organisms was also reduced resulting in lower levels of shoot death in the following sea

摘要:
AbstractResearch conducted on shoot dieback of lodgepole pine,Pinus contorta, during the early 1980's in west Scotland is summarised. The dieback symptoms and their stages of development are described.Ramichloridium pinide Hoog and Rahman was regularly isolated from bark and xylem tissue of dieased shoots. Artificial inoculations established that this fungus was the cause of the disease.

摘要:
AbstractBy polymerase chain reaction, mycoplasmalike organisms (MLOs) were detected in several declining trees ofQuercus robursampled at two locations of Germany. The MLOs associated with declining oaks were, within the 16S rDNA studied, genetically uniform and closely related to the MLOs associated with European stone fruit yellows and apple proliferation.
