摘要:
AbstractA comparison was made of the fungistatic effects of the root microflora of grey alder and Norway spruce withFomes annosusas test fungus. The significantly higher frequency of actinomycetes in the alder rhizosphere probably constituted the main difference in this respect. The importance of fungi seemed to be about equal in the rhizosphere of the two tree species. Methods for studies of antagonism are tested and discussed.

摘要:
AbstractAscomycetes, Fungi imperfecti, and Bacteria invading experimentally created wounds on stems of 55–60 years oldPicea abieswere studied after 1,2, and 4 years. The effect of wounding season, number of years since wounding, tree diameter class, height above ground, size and depth of the wounds is discussed. A general discussion is given of all isolated microorganisms, the Hymenomycetes included. Mutual influence of microorganisms is discusse

AbstractCanker in Pinus contorta provenances. In connection with canker of 9Pinus contortaprovenances the two discomycetous fungi,Crumenulopsis sororiaandLachnellularehmii, were identified. After artificial infectionsL. rehmiidid not produce canker symptoms. Therefore onlyC. sororiais considered to be the primary parasite. TheP. contortaprovenances differed in their damage rate.

摘要:
AbstractInoculation of five softwood provenances have revealed that they vary considerably with regard to their percent infection, percent mortality, severity of disease symptoms and progress of infection. Sitka spruce was the most susceptible species and served as a better substrate for further development of mycelium and rhizomorphs as compared to Norway and black spruces and Scots pine. The fungus always entered through uninjured surface of root collar and/or roots, the latter with more than 2 mm diameter. There was a conspicuous reduction m the total and annual growth in height inA. mellea‐infected seedling

AbstractThe relationship between fluoride content of needles and decrease in yield in conifer forests subject to fluorine pollution. In conifer forests (Picca abiesLk.), subject to fluoride pollution, a logarithmic correlation exists between the F‐content of unwashed needles and the decrease in wood productio

AbstractThe development of the apothecium ofDrepanopeziza salicis– the perfect state ofGloeosporium salicis– following the appearance of the microconidia has been described. The formation of both microconidia, which possibly have a spermatial function of mature ascospores and the incubation period of the ascospore‐infection have been related to climatic condi
