AbstractMorphological classification of oak and beech ectomycorrhizae in the north‐east of France. The mycorrhizae are classed into three main groups (according to the structure of the outer mantle and of attached mycelium) and thirteen types. AbstractA disease ofSorbusspp. is described in which the main symptoms are formation of cankers and extensive dieback of primary branches. A culture programme revealed thatCytospora rubescensFr. ex Fr. (Fungi Imperfecti, Sphaeropsidales) was constantly associated with the disease and inoculation tests proved its pathogenicity.
