AbstractOccurrence of species and clones of Armillaria in spruce stands, mixed stands and hardwood stands in close neighbourhood. FromArmillaridrhizomorphs (collected around trees) and from spruce butt rots, isolates of the diploids were made. In pairings between the diploid isolates and haploid testers from the five (European) biological species (BULLER phenomenon) the mating reactions often were not clear enough to identify the diploids. So carpophores were raised from the isolates and single spore cultures were obtained. In pairings with the haploid testersArmillaria borealis, A. bulbosaandA. bulbosawere identified. Usually more than oneArmillariaspecies and from each species more than one clone occurred in each stand.

AbstractEtiologic of shoot dieback of young larches in the subalpine zone. II. Abiotic causes. Wet and cool wcatlier during season postpones lignification of die youngest shoots, and effects of early frost causes them to die off. Strong sudden snow gliding (mainly slab avalanche and other avalanches) causes epidermis injuries with subsequent increased transpiration, depending on the degree of metamorphosis of snow crystals.

AbstractThe influence of pine twist must (Alelampsora pinitorqsat) on growth and development of Scots pine was studied during three consecutive years. The experimental material included three provenances from natural stands and one open pollinated seed orchrd progeny.Trees severely affected by pine twist must reached an average of 38% lower height than did not‐affected trees. while mildly affected trees grew somewhat better, on the average, than did non‐affected trees.
