摘要:
In this review, we examine the currently available algorithms for predicting the wind field in rough terrain for potential wind power estimation. Numerical codes are conveniently divided into kinematic mass-consistent flow field ones that do not explicitly utilize the momentum equation, and dynamic ones that solve the full set of environmental fluid mechanics equations appropriate to mesoscale regions. Short descriptions for the most important codes are given and their advantages and disadvantages for wind energy prospecting are discussed along with some aspects of the appropriate methodology for deriving climatic averages appropriate for rough terrain. Finally, an example of the results of one of these models applied to the island of Andros, Greece which is known for its windy climate is presented.

Les aquifères restent en général à la même température toute l'année et représentent une très bonne source froide pour les pompes à chaleur. Malheureusement la plupart du temps, les aquifères constituent une source limitée du double point de vue hydraulique et thermique. Pour maintenir leur niveau hydraulique on doit les exploiter avec des “doublets” (un puits pour le pompage et un puits pour 1'injection); pour maintenir leur niveau thermique on doit emmagasiner de l'Energie solaire principalement en été. Ce système appelé “Doublet héliogéothermique” a été étudié et un projet pilote a été construit à Paris en 1982, l'article présente les résullats de cette étude préliminaire

摘要:
The thermal loss coefficient k of evacuated load bearing transparent silica aerogel tiles is determined for temperatures between 280 K and 400 K. The measurements were performed with the large guarded hot plate high vacuum system LOLA I, the reference plates of which can be pressed onto the samples with an adjustable load (0... 1 bar). For a 22mm layer of aerogel (density ρ ≈ 100...110g/liter) the loss coefficient varied between aboutk= 0.36 W//m2K) at 280 K andk= 1.45 W/(m2.K) at 400 K, corresponding to a pseudo-conductivity λ = 8. 10−3W/(m. K) and λ = 32. 10−3W/(m. K), respectively. Thus at typical winter temperatures (inside 20 °C, outside −10 °C to 0 °C), evacuated transparent aerogel could provide excellent thermal insulation as a spacer in double pane windows. It also could be used in passive solar systems, for example as a cover for Trombe walls or as a transparent insulating structure around house walls. The dramatic increase of thermal losses at higher temperatures is due to a transmission window for infrared radiation between 3 and 7 μm, Additional data reveal the influence of water adsorption and of air pressure on the thermal conductivity of aerogel.

摘要:
Year round performance and cost analysis is presented for different types of solar distillators: basin type and multiple wick type. Performance of six such stills, built by using glass fibre re-inforced plastic materials under different treatments in order to improve the overall performance and to enhance the life time, was studied. On the basis of data acquired during the year 1983-84, economic calculations are made. It is found that the cost of distilled water produced from a typical single basin still with FRP coating and from an FRP multiple wick still per litre is Rs. 0.36 and Rs. 0.30 respectively. A detailed discussion on various aspects of design, fabrication, assembly and maintenance of these solar distillation systems is also added.
