摘要:
Natural ventilation of buildings in warm and windless summer nights is a challenging task for any designer requiring knowledge of the quantitative performance of the tool used. This work develops a method dealing with the calculation of air exchange rates of naturally ventilated spaces that a solar chimney could provide during summer nights. Thus, a vertical and massive Solar Chimney (SC), is studied having a uniform air core of rectangular cross-section with the greater axis along the N-S direction, with the E, S, and W (concrete) walls painted black and covered by a single-pane glass 5.0 cm far apart, while the N wall is thermally insulated by a 5.0 cm layer of weather protected glass wool. Solar energy stored as heat in the massive walls during the day, is dissipated at night when the duct dampers are opened permitting the updraft movement of warm indoor air enhanced by the buoyancy forces created when core air is heated by the warmer duct wall surfaces, while, at the same time, heat is being lost to the environment by convection and radiation. SC's thermal slate at a typical summer day's end is calculated by an energy simulation design software tool using hourly climatic data for Athens. Finally, SC's night dynamic performance is explained through a heat transfer mechanism, eventually, leading to determining the transient, wall, air temperatures, and air flow rates. As it is shown, between 100 m3/h and 200 m3/h of air per meter length of SC could be ventilated from a room during a typical July night.

摘要:
The principal way of efficiency improvement of solar pumped gas lasers has been considered. CO2-laser with black body reradiator was under investigation. Optical selectivity of reradiator was included into this model and computer simulation shown sufficient efficiency increasing of a solar energy conversion to lasant energy. The usage of selective coating of reradiator is able lo provide some percent efficiency for case of CO2-laser with theoretical limit near 10% (ideal selective coating).

摘要:
This paper describes the project of building an unique autonomous house in Japan. After treating the general concept of an autonomous house, the self-sufficient-sustainable systems for “Izu-Atagawa Autonomous House“ to be built at Izu-Peninsula, 80 km south-west of Tokyo are explained in detail with visual presentations.

摘要:
Variations in the I-V characteristics of photovoltaic modules can lead to significant power loss. This study deals with an analysis of series-string losses. The current parameter of a set of PV modules is considered as a random variable following the Weibull distribution. An analytical expression has been obtained to predict these losses. A preliminary experiment that shown a good agreement with the proposed model is also presented.

摘要:
In this review, the integration of distiller unit for other thermal application e.g., agriculture, passive heating, biogas enhancement and extraction of essence from any paste have been presented. The design and performance of each system has been discussed in detail. It is observed that after integration with difference thermal concept distiller unit provides a reasonable amount of distillate output and thus, becomes cost-effective.
