摘要:
A new application for clay-tile roofing material is investigated. The clay-tile is used as an absorbing surface for a solar collector. The collector used is of the so-called water-trickle type, in which water flows atop the open channels of a corrugated absorbing surface. Solar radiation is absorbed mainly by the c!ay-ti!e surface and the heat is conducted to the water.

摘要:
This communication presents the periodic analysis of a ground air collector with reflector and crop drying chamber. The effect of thermal storage, collector length, depth of the plane of heat retrieval, the flow rate on the useful energy gain and crop temperature has been studied. Numerical computation has been carried out for the typical day of the month of June and December for Delhi climatic conditions. It is observed that there is a significant phase shift 10-12 h due to storage effect.

摘要:
A Transparent Insulation Material (TIM) was manufactured from plastic film and shown to reduce the cover normalised heat loss coefficient, U/η0by over 50% relative to a double-glazed cover system. Such a TIM could be made from polyester film to produce a stagnation-proof and cost-effective cooker which would have greater chance of adoption than less efficient cookers currently made. A cover produced in this fashion would have a normalised loss coefficient, U/η0, of approximately 3 W/m2K.

摘要:
This paper presents an electronic sun-tracker system which uses electro-optical sensors for sun finding and a microprocessor controller unit for data processing and for control of the mechanical drive system. This system allows solar energy collectors to follow the sun position for optimum efficiency. It has a modular structure which facilitates its application to different systems without great modifications. The system has been applied to control a water heating parabolic solar system for domestic uses. Many parameters have been controlled for system security such as temperature, pressure and wind velocity. The system has been tested for a long period in variable illumination. The result shows that it operates satisfactorily with high accuracy.

摘要:
The transient behaviour of a three-zone salt gradient solar pond is described analytically in terms of a one-dimensional unsteady model where the dynamic response of the pond is resulted from sudden change in the intensity of the incident solar radiation. In terms of this model, closed form expressions for the useful heat extraction rate and for the pond efficiency are presented. Also, the effect of various geometric, atmospheric and design parameters on the pond performance is examined.
