摘要:
The application of the comparator method in NAA to fission neutron reactions enables the calibration of a number additional elements and the correction of interfering reactions. The reaction51Fe(n, γ)54Mn is used for monitoring the fast neutron flux. The influence of the alteration of the fast neutron spectrum will be corrected by flux factors, which are necessary for reactions with neutron energies above 8 MeV.

摘要:
Mutual excitations of diverse sample elements constitute a main problem in x-ray fluorescence analysis. Effective computers permit a comprehensive solution (see [1]) on the base of Sherman's equation [2] for x-ray yields, enhanced by interelement effects. Suclt an enhancement can be estimated on the level of a pocket calcidator by a very simple formula. The respectivemodel proceeds from a quasi-continuous transformation of the primary fluorescence radiation into the secondary fluorescence along its outgoing path, according to the cross sections involved in the attenuation. It does not contain an explicite two-collision treatment and consequently runs along the line of the ordinary single-collision approach of x-ray excitation. It is discussed for NiZn as a system, which is highly sensitive to interelement interactions.

摘要:
The contents of Sc, Cr, Fe, Co, Ni, Rb, Pd, Cs, Ir, Pt and Au are determined by instrumental and radiochemical neutron activation analysis in basites and ultramafics of the Saxonian Granulite Massif. The noble metal contents in the ultramafics indicate the supply of cosmic matter to the earth mantle after core formation. From the contents in gabbros we observed the following order of compatibility: Fe < Co < Cr < Ni < Pd < Ir.
