摘要:
Given a specified design the efficiency of a gamma irradiation facility can be improved by optimum adjustment of certain parameters (e.g. source positions, activity distribution, distance between the sources and the irradiation goods, dimensions of the irradiation container, etc.). The optimization problem is given by an objective function (efficiency, or throughput), which is to be maximized, and by constraints limiting the admissible range of the dose applied to the product. The general mathematical formulation of the problem is specified for different types of irradiation facilities (one or several conveyors, one or several containers in a stationary or an intermittent regime).

摘要:
To solve the problem of the optimization of gamma irradiation facilities given by an objective function (throughput), which is to be maximized, and by constraints (in terms of nonlinear inequalities and of linear equations) a computer program was developed based on the evolution method, a combination of a stochastic search and an aim-oriented step-by-step procedure. The applicability of the alogrithm implemented on an ES 1040 computer to the maximization of the throughput as well as to the improvement of the dose field homogeneity is demonstrated by different examples especially related to the irradiation of onions.

摘要:
Analytical applications of ion-induced X-ray emission demand an interpolation procedure of X-ray attenuation coefficients. For photo attenuation a three-parameter representation is widely used. Its reliability has been tested under the aspects of Scofield's RHS calculations. Based upon these results parameter sets are proposed for the total attenuation coefficients in the interval 1 ≦ E [keV] ≦ 40 which is useful for PIXE.

摘要:
Two organic ligands containing pyridine ring and three of their cobalt and nickel complexes were prepared and recrystallized from their appropriate solvents. Careful courses of infrared absorption measurements before and after various gamma radiation doses (105–109rd), elemental analysis and melting point determination were conducted. Materials investigated were arranged in a descending order of their decreasing stability towards gamma irradiation. Results were further discussed in terms of bond-strength and the steric effect of molecular groups.

摘要:
Extensive measurements have been carried out on glucose and lactose molecules comprising, infrared and electronic absorption spectra both before and after exposure to an absorbed energetic γ-ray dose (5.0 × 107rd). These materials were chosen as representatives of mono- and di-saccharides. They have intramolecular hydrogen bonding of variant origin. Results obtained were in conformity, explained, assigned and discussed in details in relation with the nature and origin of hydrogen bonding in each case. Finally, a correlation between γ-radiation damage and relative strength of hydrogen bonding was put forward and established for the first time. Finally, a suggested interaction mechanism of γ-absorbed dose with the carbohydrate molecules investigated was thoroughly established.

摘要:
The effect of γ-irradiation on 9 lanthanide acetylacetonate complexes was investigated. The degradation processes as a result of γ-irradiation were followed by infrared and ultraviolet spectrometry. It was found that the rate of degradation of the different complexes in methanol solutions are always lower than in solid state. The infrared spectra of the irradiated complexes indicated that the M—O bonds are the main degraded part of the complex and the rate of decrease in the intensities of these bands depends on the type of the coordinated lanthanide. In methanol solution, the rate of degradation and the G-values with the observed does were calculated and discussed in the light of coordination ability of the lanthanides as well as the degradation process.

摘要:
To the radiometric thickness gage robotron 24024 manufactured by the VEB Robotron-Meβclektronik “Otto Schön” Dresden new sensors basing on absorption of beta and gamma radiation were developed. Altogether 21 modifications of one base type suitable for the solution of different measuring problems are available. In comparison to previous sensors the stability of the measuring signal has been advanced. Even, there are a diminished response time and enlarged thickness respectively mass per unit area ranges. Profile measurements with a higher resolution can, be carried out. Moreover, the radiation protection was improved.

摘要:
For the control of measurements as well as for taking over and pre-processing of the measurement data the NMR-spectrometer BS 487 C/TESLA has been connected on-line with an AMCA 80-microcomputer. This experimental equipment has been integrated in the local computer network ATLAS. For the data transmission and the computer coupling the CAMAC-system has been used. The storage and time intensive programmes for the spectra evaluations are-running in the EG-1040 computer. The data transfer is controlled by the help of a two-party, cooperative communication type protocol. The data acquisition and processing work in dialogue are running under real-time conditions.
