The results are presented of a series of experiments where the REMAB antropomorphous phantom was irradiated by 14,7 MeV neutrons from the NA-2 neutron generator. The neutron fluence and neutron doses were determined on the one hand from measuring the induced24Na activity for the torso as well as for the entire phantom, and, on the other hand from measuring the32P activity induced in the hair, nail, and sulfur samples. In all the cases, the fluence values were corrected for the neutron backscattering and for geometry conditions when necessary. The fluence values ranged between 3·80 · 1012and 2·26 · 1013m−2and the neutron doses varied between 3.16 · 10−2and 5.19 · 10−1· kg−1.

Specific method for accurate radioimmunoassay (RIA) of total triiodothyronine (T3) in unextracted human serum has been developed. The method is used for estimation of either free T3 in serum or total T3 by inhibition of the binding sites of T3 to protein using TCA/NaOH mixture. The technique used is RIA, using T3-antibodies from Amersham and dextran charcoal is used for separation of free fraction from the bind antibody antigen protein.

Es wurden an Halogenzählrohren Untersuchungen zur Abhängigkeit der Totzeit von der Höhe des Vorimpulses durchgeführt. Eine neue oszillographische Methode zur einfachen Ermittlung der Mindesttotzeil konnte gefunden werden.Schlieβlich wird ein Weg zur Erfassung der Zählratenverluste beim Vorhandensein einer endlichen Eingangs-(Diskriminator-)Schwelle in der Nach-folgeelektronik aufgezeigt. Zu diesem Zweck wird ein Impulshöhenverlustfaktor “h” definiert.

Nach Darstellung der Vorzüge beim Einsatz von Neutronen-Feuchtemessern zur laufenden Betriebsmessung der Koksfeuchte am Hochofen und der Einfluβgröβen auf die Meβgenauigkeit, wird die Notwendigkeit der Eichung im laufenden Betrieb dieser Feuchtemesser, sowie der dabei auftretenden Schwierigkeiten erörtert. Unter Verwendung von statistisch-mathematischen Methoden wurde festgestellt, daβ die Hauptabweichung bei der Eichung, durch die Phase der Probennahme hervorgerufen wurde. Aufgrund der Ergebnisse der mathematischen Auswertung wird eine leistungsfāhigere Eichungsmethode – gegenüber den herkömmlichen – vorgesch'agen. Diese Methode gestattet – in einer relativ kurzen Zeit – eine hohe Genauigkeit zu erreichen. Bei Feuchtemessern mit Tiefensonden und (241Am + Be)-Neutronenquellen mit einer Aktivität von 100 mCi konnte ein Glaubwūrdigkeitsniveau der Anzeigen von ΔX = 0,42% Wasser (bei P = 95%) mit einem Gesamtzeitaufwand von 160 Stunden/Mann erzielt werden.

Experimental determination of the carbon isotope effect in the ethane-water system was carried out using the modified Rayleigh method. The investigations were carried out with regard to the temperature dependence of the isotope effect in the temperature range between 13 and 80 °C under atmospheric pressure. The experimental results are discussed in details.
