Isotopenbatterien sind Batterien, die ihre Energie aus dem Zerfall radioaktiver Isotope beziehen. Die Bezeiehnung Isotopenbatterie wird im folgenden unabhängig von ihrer Leistung verwendet und von der Methode, mittels derer die Zerfallsenergie in elektrische Energie umgewandelt wird.

Routine production process for radioisotope32P on a large scale is described. As target material elementary sulphur irraidated in reactor EWA is used.32P in the form of ortophosphoric acid carrier-free is obtained by distillation sulphur in vacuum. Process gives a yield of about 80…1000% and product has sufficiently high chemical and radiochemical purity for medical use.

A procedure for the separation of233U from macro concentrations of thorium is described. The separation is achieved by selective extraction of uranium from nitric acid solutions using TBP as a solvent. Extraction is carried out in a laboratory mixer-settler apparatus.

Es wird eine Methode angegeben, mit der der Zementgehalt von Beton auf einfache Art zerstörungsfrei bestimmt werden kann. Dem Zement wird dabei eine genauest bekannte Menge eines bestimmten Elementes vollständig gleichmäβig verteilt zugesetzt. Nach Fertigstellung des Betons kann diese Element durch Neutronenbestrahlung aktiviert werden. Die Gröβe der Strahlungs-intensit¯t als Maβ für den Zementgehalt. Als Tracerelement wird Indium vorgeshlagen. Eine Messung dauert etwa 55s. Die Mehrkosten der Betonherstellung bei Verwendung dieser Methode werden angegeben.

Das zeitvariable, polyenergetische Spektrum der γ-Strahlung von Reaktorbrennelementen erfordert besondere Überlegungen, um eine ausreichend sichere Dosierung des Bestrahlgutes zu gewährleisten. Es wurden charakteristische Materialparameter abgeleitet, mit deren Hilfe das Bestrahlgut allgemeingültig gekennzeichnet wird. Der Einfluβ auf Homogenität und Effektivität des Bestrahlungsprozesses bei Variation dieser Materialparameter wird diskutiert. Weiterhin wird der Einfluβ des variablen Energiespektrums auf die Dosisverteilung im Bestrahlgut unter verschiedensten Operalionsbedingungen der Brennelemente untersucht. Mit Hilfe der erzielten Ergebnisse werden die Bedingungen für den optimalen Materialbereich abgeleitet.

Decontamination and corrosion have been studied in the following solutions: chromic-phosphoric acid, diammonium citrate, triammonium citrate and the tetrasodium salt of EDTA. High decontamination factors of aluminum, contaminated with60Co, were obtained in the solution of chromic-phosphoric acid, di- and triammonium citrate. In the solution of the tetrasodium salt of EDTA, decontamination factors were low. Highest uniform corrosin has caused a solution of the tetrasodium salt of EDTA, up to 11 g/m2. h. The solution of triammonium citrate has very mild uniform etching action on aluminum. Total weight losses observed in the diammonium citrate solution were approximately equal, while corrosion was nonuniforn. This solution caused a local attack and pits. Chromic-phosphoric acid had also slight action on aluminum.

It was calculated, in the present paper, the potential of normal hydrogen electode in the case of isotopic H-D substitution, on the base of isotopic equilibrium for the H2O-H3O+and H2O-H2systems. It was obtained a linear dependence of electrode potential upon the isotopic concentration for the acid heavy water solutions.
