摘要:
A review is given about studies on thermoluminescence dosimetry and on dosimetry by means of optical stimulation, which have been carried out at the Technical University in Dresden during the last 25 years. The main fields are the preparation of luminescent materials, the manufacturing of detectors, the determination of essentially solid-stale physical and dosimetrie properties and the application of different TL/OSL-deteclors for problems to be solved. Some details about the development of the scientific tools are described.

摘要:
In the last years the measurement of ionizing radiation by means of scintillation detectors has reached some important improvements. These developments on scintillators and photodetectors were induced by the demands of medicine (computer tomography), of high energy physics and of space research, such as high efficiency and energy resolution, short luminescence rise and decay time and the absence of phosphorescence (afterglow), issues in measuring in high intense beams or in the high energy range and miniaturizing of detectors. Some of the main inherent limitations of conventional PM-tubes as low quantum efficiency, large size and weight, inadequate ruggedness, high power consumption and sensitivity against external magnetic and electric fields are overcome to silicon photodiodes, silicon avalanche photodiodes, HgI2,-photodetectors and other solid state devices as potential replacement for vacuum PM-tubes. Moreover a neiv principle of monolithical solid stale scintillation detector is discussed.

Construction and functioning of a device for readout thread-shaped LiF-thermoluminescent detectors is described. These detectors serve as measurement of distribution of absorbed dose in affected organs (kidney, ureter, bladder, rectum) with radiation treatment of gynaecologycal tumors.

摘要:
A special Monte Carlo code in which the geometry of the measuring equipment, could be specified, was written to calculate the 4,43 MeVγcounting rate for backseatter geometries and for penetration geometries. The influence of mass per und area, of density, of content of hydrogen, oxygen and iron at coal and of various conveyors for 4,43 MeVγcounting rate teas calculated for application in industry of brown coal. For industrial measuring equipment it is demonstrated that the standard deviation of the value of carbon content is nearly 3%.

A chemical reactor is presented nearly ideal suited for liquid-phase reactions derived from residence lime measurements. A mathematical model is developed for this reactor based on tracer experiments at laboratory scale and experimental plants.

摘要:
The foundation of institutes and laboratories in the field of nuclear and isotope research in 1956 in the GDR was connected with the need of specialists. We started, therefore, the first training course on applied radioactivity in 1956 at the Institute of Applied Radioactivity Leipzig at that time. During such a course we guided 14 experiments in radiochemistry and 9 experiments in radiophysics. The head of the department of education was Prof. Dr. habil. Lieselott Herforth. Up to this day, more than 5000 scientists have took part in our training courses.

摘要:
Various radiotracers were used to investigate the dissolution of alloying additions and their distribution in steel. The alloying specimens FeCr, FeMn, SiMn and FeTi that had locally been labelled were simultaneously added to the steel melt. Sampling was carried out by means of a special probe. The distribution of the elements in steel teas determined by gamma-spectrometric evaluation of the samples using a multichannel analyzer type TRACOR TN 4500.

摘要:
The aim of investigation presented was the estimation of the resisting against carburzing of two types of alloy cast steel, which were covered with various protective coats. By means of the radioisotope14C the carburizing atmosphere was labelled and the carbon migration through barrier layers to a cast steel base has been investigated by autoradiography. The investigation technique is described and results are discussed.
