The paper describes different methods of isotopic analysis for hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen. In the cases of the hydrogen and the oxygen, a light source with high frequency excitation and a Fabry-Perot spectrometer with photoelectric recording were employed. For the nitrogen we used a Zeiss Q-24-spectrograph, or a Zeiss SPM-2 monochromator, converted by us to photoelectric automatic recording instruments. In the last case the method teas extended for determining the nitrogen isotopic concentration in nitric oxide gas.

In the Radioisotope Laboratory of the Boris Kidrič Institute a neiv cell for production of chlormerodrin (neohydrin, promerane) has been constructed. This radiopharmaceulical is produced at an activity level of 300—100 mCi per batch; the yield is 78—80%, and the specific activity 0.5—1.5 mCi/mg of chloromerodrin. Radiochemical purity is: organic mercury >99%; inorganic mercury <1%.

Presently available113mSn.113mIn generators use high specific activity113Sn which cannot be produced in low and medium flux research reactors even with enriched112Sn. This paper describes a method of preparing112Sn.113mIn generators usingll3Sn of relatively low specific activity (2—3 Ci/g) obtained by irradiation of enriched112Sn in CIRUS. In this modified procedure,113SnCl4is firmly adsorbed on hydrous zirconia from 3—4 M NaCl solutions of pH 1.3 to 1.5 and the elution of113mIn is effected by dilute HCl. The generator yields 70% of the theoretically availablell3mIn activity.113Sn breakthrough has been consistantly less than 0.01% of the113mIn activity. Stable zirconium contamination in the eluate has been estimated to be less than 1 ppm. The performance characteristics of different varieties of hydrous zirconia have been studied to evaluate the optimum tin loading, indium elution and soluble zirconium contamination. Generators containing upto 700 mCi of tin-113 have been prepared yielding pure indium-113m suitable for medical use.

Die Autoradiographie wurde als eine Methode zur Untersuchung der struklurellen Heterogenitāt in kationenaustauschenden Membranen angewandt. Als Markierungsisotop wurde131Cs geiwāhlt, das durch Ionenaustausch in die Membranen eingefūhrt wurde. Es wurden makroskopische Autoradiogramme erhalten, die die globale Anordnung der Ionogengruppen, und mikroikopische, die die Anordnung der Gruppen in den lichtmikroskopisch abgrenzbaren Membranbestandteilen zeigen.

Es wurde eine Möglichkeit der Bestimmung von kleinen CO2-Mengen in einer Gasmischung (Ammoniak und seine Dissoziationsprodukte) beim Nitrieren von Stahl geprüft und eine entsprechende Meβmethode ausgearbeitet. Der Kohlenstoff im Stahl wurde mit dem Radioisotopl4C markiert. Das entstehende14CO2wurde in β-Aminoāthylalkohol absorbiert und die Aktivität mit Hilfe von Flüssig-Szintillatoren und eines β-Spektrometers gemessen. Die Zāhlausbeute beträgl ca. 68%. Die erarbeitete -Methode ermöglieht die Bestimmung einer Minimalaktivität von (6,82 ± 2,2) · 10−12Ci bei ca. 40 min Zähldauer.
