摘要:
The γ-α transformation, the change in the internal magnetic field of α ferrite, and the kind and quantity of carbide phase precipitation in the spring steel 62SiCr5 were determined by CEMS and Moessbauer transmission spectroscopy. The investigations were performed after a conventional and HTMT treatment with subsequently tempering between 293 K and 698 K.

摘要:
A simple method is proposed for the estimation of the average hyperfine field, i.e. the magnetization direction in the foil samples from the57Fe Moessbauer spectra measured at three different orientations. The intensity ratios in the Moessbauer spectra of the sample perpendicular to the gamma-ray propagation direction and tilted by 45° in the longitudinal and transversal planes yield both angle coordinates of the hyperfine field direction without supposing the direction vector normalization, i.e., avoiding the necessity of line intensities corrections. The method is demonstrated by showing the influence of heat and mechanical treatments on the magnetization direction in two amorphous alloys, Fe80Cr2Bi14S4and Fe40Ni40B20, the latter showing a pronounced stress annealing induced magnetic anisotropy.

摘要:
This paper is aimed at some improvements of the calibration scheme for Moessbauer isomer shifts which, among others, rehabilitate measured rate variations of nuclear electron capture decay as solid and direct sources of electron contact densities. On the ground of an extended block of experimental data and advanced theoretical ideas we come to propose new “best” values for the relative changes ▵R/R of the nuclear charge radius of119Sn,125Te,127I: 1.8 · 10−4, 8.0 · 10−5, –3.4 · 10−4and 4.3 · 10−4, respectively. The remaining uncertainty is estimated to lie below 10%.

Using121Sb Moessbauer spectroscopy information concerning both ionicity and valence stale of the intercalate in ternary graphite intercalation compounds (GIC) can be obtained. It has been proved that the major portion of antimony in the SbCl5/MCl3-GIC has the valence state of Sb(V) whereas oxidation of the graphite is to be expected only to an insignificant extent. Two different antimony phases of a neutral and a negatively charged species were shown to exist by evaluation of the spectra in the Sb(V) region. In comparison with the binary SbCl5-GIC the changes of the isomer shift may be a consequence of intermolecidar interactions with the trichlorides. These changes are in accordance with Pauling's electronegativities. Assuming the existence of polymeric anions consisting of the species SbCl5, SbCl6−and MCl3in the interlaminary spacings an interpretation of the spectra is given. Conversion electron Moessbauer spectroscopy (CEMS) is a method very suitable for the study of ion implanted iron. It is demonstrated on nitrogen and phosphorus implanted iron layers. Using this technique not the 14.4-keV-gamma-rays as in the case of the conventional Moessbauer transmission experiments but the conversion and Auger electrons are detected. These electrons have a maximum energy of 7.3 keV. The Moessbauer signal can be obtained from a surface layer of about 300 nm. But the main fraction of the signal, namely 65%, comes from the first 50 nm. This range is just interesting for ion implantation. Depending on the test conditions different iron nitrides are formed by the nitrogen implantation and the phosphorus implantation can result in both amorphization and compound formation in the implanted layer.

摘要:
The individual steps of the preparation of M-type Ba-hexaferrite particles by the glass crystallization method were studied by means of Moessbauer spectroscopy. As starting materials, three different compositions of the system Fe2O3-BaO-B2O3were used. The amorphous base materials were prepared by the twin roller quenching method. In these materials Fe3+ions occupy both the tetrahedral and the octahedral sites in the glassy network. At high annealing temperatures not only the crystalline Ba-hexaferrite phase, but also an amount of approximately 16% of glassy phase can be found. The Fe3+content at octahedral sites in the glassy phase rises from about 25% at an annealing temperature of 300°C to about 70 to 90% in annealing above 780°C.
