摘要:
The separation possibility of a gaseous H2–D2mixture by selective permeation through polymers is studied. For this, the Permeabilities, diffusivities and solubilities of pure H2and D2at 296 K were measured for six polymers sheets. The dependence of permeabilities on temperature was determined in the range of 260–360 K. It Was found that the isotopic effect at permeation is strongly dependent on the nature of the polymer and on the temperature. In the end, the possibility of separating a H2–D2mixture by selective permeation through polymers, Pd and microporous glass is discussed.

摘要:
Noble gas ionization detectors make it possible to determine inorganie trace components in gases. Among the several modes of operation of these detectors the hydrocarbon-sensitized argon detector is a farourable compromise with regard to the relation of the expense to the attainable detection limit. The suitability of this detector for the determination of H2, O2, N2, CH4and CO2, in pure gases is shown.

摘要:
Electron-capture detectors enable the high sensitive determination of fluorocarbons and fluorochlorocarbons. It is shown, that the investigation of gas chromatographic retention indices and electron capture coefficients permits the identification of such compounds. Improved ECD modes (coulometric mode, electron attachment spectroscopy) arc discussed.

摘要:
The coulometric mode of operation is given, if each sample molecule passing the ECD is converted into a negative ion and if each negative ion causes a decrease of the ionization current. The sensitivity of the detector in this case amounts to 96500 C/mol. A hypercoulometric response is given, if fragments from dissociative processes undergo electron capture at several times and if the enhancing effect of space charges is used. In this case the sensitivity of the ECD exceeds the upper limit given by Faraday's number. The operation conditions of both EGD-modes are described.

摘要:
Solid samples of acetylcholine halide [CH3COOCH2CH2⋅ N(CH3)3]X, where X = Br, I as supplied from (BDH) company have been purified and recrystallized from the appropriate solvent. Extensive studies of infrared absorption spectra and analysis of the X-ray diffraction patterns were carefully conducted before and after exposure to high energy gamma absorbed dose (5 × 108rd). Results obtained indicated that acetylcholine bromide has higher radiation resistance than acetylcholine iodide and this was discussed on the basis of bond strength and electronegativity differences. These could be also discussed in terms of gamma absorbed dose damage and their attendent creation of lattice imperfections in combination with donor defect centres which are liable to occur pronouncedly for the iodide salt. Finally, the IR absorption spectra as well as X-ray diffraction analysis could find their great usefull application as a rapid and sensitive tools for radiation detection at high efficiency using acetylcholine halides polycrystals as detectors.
