摘要:
The life of Rudolf Schönheimer is reported. He was a pioneer in the application of the stable isotopes2H,13C, and15N in life science concerning three aspects: He established the principle of tracer techniques in living systems. He revolutionized the concepts of metabolism (“metabolic pool”, “dynamic state of body constituents”). He was successful in founding the first interdisciplinary team in this field.

摘要:
After injection of a single dose of double labelled lysine (1 MBq L-[u-14C]lysine and 150 μmol L-[α15N]lysine (95 atom%15N)) to growing rats the fractional protein synthesis rates (FSR) of some organs were estimated by the “large dose-” or “flooding method”. Data obtained with both substances were compared and the following conclusions can be drawn:

摘要:
Mil Hilfe der15N-Tracertechnik wurde der N-Stoffwechsel von je 6 Läufern und Läuferinnen charakterisiert. Als Tracersubstanz wurde [15N]Glycin eingesetzt. Die tracerkinetischen Daten, die sich aus der Ausscheidung des lsotops im Urin ergeben, wurden unter Verwendung der Priming-Technik vermittelt. Die Parameter dcs Proteinstoffwechscls wurden auf der Grundlage eines 3-Pool-Stoffwechselmodells herechnet. Die experimentellen Ergebnisse werden diskutiert.
